Hi girls!!

I just had to write it!!!
Yesterday I went to pick my mum from the airoport. Obviously I had to take Daniel with me. I met her fine, and we decided to go to change him and feed him at the baby changing facilities, which are quite nice there. Anyways, we came in, changed him and started feeding him. There was no one in there. Then, THEN comes in that idiot of a mother (sorry ladies, but she bloody was!!!) with a girl, who has a terrbile rash on her face and SITS DOWN, holding that girl right next to me and my baby!!!! I was like    ! I didnt know then what it is, so I thought she just might be allergic or something, so I asked staraight away wats on her daughters face and she, bloody woman, SMILING says to me - Its CHICKEN POX!!!!! I was like     :x :x :x    and while really quicly, holding Daniels pot of food in my hand and trying to get out of there as quicly as possible, told her, that she shouldnt be there!!! And told my mum, who was dragging Daniel out that its infectious! And that bloody idiot was smiling saying yes, yes, thats is!!!!!!! WTF!!!!
Just, please, someone explain, why on earth a MOTHER herself would do something like that!!!! I understand, that sometimes you need topick up someone from the airoport, BUT, there are phones and she could have stayed in the car and waited there!!!And you CAN change children in the car!
So I completely dont understand!!! Especially, that not only children can be infected! She probably infected a dozen of people that day! Agrrrrrrrrrrrrrrr!!!!   :x :x :x :x

And now I am really worried that Daniel wil get it! He was in that room for just 1 minute with her, but, it was a small room, and as I know chicken pox transfers throught the air!?
I know it isnt very dangerous, but, in 3 weeks we are going on holiday, and I, unlike that bloody stupid women would never take my ill child on a plane/public place etc!!!! I just think, you shouldnt do things, what you dont want to be done to you!

So, anybody??WHY ON EARTH!???

  I didnt think people took their kids out if they had chicken pox due to the fact they are so contagious (sp?) I dont know much about chicken pox but I'm certain that I would keep Maddison home if she had them. I guess all you can do now is wait and see if Daniel gets it :(
How is your Mum enjoying her stay?

Great :( Leckershell's Ryan had it and I remember her posting that she was stuck at home for a week and posted lots of pics.

I'm not entirely sure but I think getting chickenpox can be helpful for kids, infact people sometimes introduce their kids to other kids with it so that they get it and therefore afterwards are immune to it. However - she surely should have asked first before sitting next to you!!!

Dont quote me though, I might have got it wrong

I am suprised she didn't ask first but I can't help but wonder from things you said if maybe her child didn't have chicken pox but something else (non catching) and she is fed up with peoples reactions so said it was chicken pox and highly contagious to wind you up - is probably just me and probably totally off the mark but the way you say she reacted just doesn't seem normal

Hope Daniel doesn't get chicken pox but it is beter for them to have it as young children then when they're older they seem to recover from it quicker when they're young and then they have immunity to it.

Just quoting, ladies. I know it isnt dangerous and some people get their children to communicate with those who has chicken pox, but as we are going away on a holiday I dont really want him to get ill. And it would be for me to decide when Daniel should get it not some women.
And, I think I can explain her reaction, that she wasnt a native English speaker. So, I am sure, she ment what she ment.

That is stupid because unless it has changed children cant ply with chicken poxs, we had to cancell our holiday when kie was 5 because he got them and they wouldnt allow him to fly because its contagious

Lucy came home from nursery on Wednesday feeling off colour and by yesterday morning she was covered! She's stayed at home with my mum, I think she's been for a walk round the block and that's it!

The main reason for keeping your child at home is to protect young babies (less than 4 weeks) pregnant women and other people with low or weak immune systems.

Yes its a pain but that's hardly the point. Lucy can't go back to nursery until all the blisters have scabbed over. Yes, she got it from nursery but there's no point spreading it about!

I think she was very ignorant to take her child out with that condition, yes it's sometimes better for children to have chicken pox whilst little, but its not good for pregnant women  And if she did pass it onto any LO's going away on holiday that day, what a wonderful time they'll have had :x :(

"Infectious children should be kept away from pregnant women who have not had chicken pox before as it can cause problems for the unborn baby. Very young babies and children whose immune system is deficient are also at risk."

My 3 had it last spring and my sister brought her 1 year old round to my house. This was after my eldest had had it but before the 2 little ones got it so it wasn't deliberate. She was at our house playing with them for a few hours and the LO's spots came out the next day so they would of already been contagious. My niece never caught it the so there is a good chance he won't get it  Everyone's kids I know whos had it, has always come out in spots 14 days after exposure.

were they stil blistering? they say chicken pox is contagious two weeks before the spots appear and only for a couple days once they appear or until the blistering has gone.

Hopefully that little girl had had them long enough. I think your little boy will be fine
