about the cough medicine

Hi everyone. I haven't posted in a long time but I read the post about the cough medicine and I have a question:

If the guaifenesin is the 2nd basic ingredient in the medicine, will it work? 1st one is theophynille (used in asthma, opens airways to ease breathing). It's 30 mg versus 50 mg

If anyone has any clue please let me know

i think it'll be okay. The one i bought was 80% quaifenein. But 50% should still work. I don't think the other ing would cause you nay harm... it's not like it would dry up your mucus as it's to open your chest and help you breath. I know some medicines dry up your mucus (like cold/flu tablets)
