Abdomen does not seem to be growing?!

Hi Girls,

Just wondered if anyone else who is 9 weeks is NOT showing!?!

Read a book last night (fatal, I know) that says that the lower abdomen should be starting to grow - mine does not seem to be yet!!

I didn't show until well in 2nd Tri so I wouldn't worry about it.

Have a look at the bumps pics thread and see what the other ladies are looking like

I only put on general weight to start with - bum boobs waist - it was only later (after 12) when I started to look like I had anything like a bump!

Feel better now you have told me that...with my little girl I seem to remember my abdomen swelling first, but can't remmeber when! BUT I know that every pregnancy is different!

That's a good idea to look at pictures of other pregnant women! Going to do it now!!

Hiya,

I dont think you start showing properly for a few more weeks yet. Im very bloated though. I look fine in the morning but come the evening i look about 6 months!

Stay away from looking at pics.. i did that and there was one girl on google that looked massive at 8 weeks!

Dont worry the bump will come!!

Hi Julia, dont worry. I am almost 20 weeks and I have only just started getting a bump...mind you, it has suddenly appeared and has had a growth spurt..I even joked today saying maybe we need to have a constant videocamera on it for 24 hours - watch it by ffwding and see if it baloons in these 24 hours coz the speed has come from nowhere to a bump and then some...but until last week I was not showing at all..

Hi Julia, I'm 11 weeks and not showing yet, bit bloated in the evening but no bump as such yet. It depends on all sorts of things from what I've read so please don't worry yourself!

I am just going to bed after a lovely (small portion) of Chinese meal...I will surely think of something else to worry about overnight....

Weight Gain? Lying on my stomach in bed? Picking up my two year old? Having bad nausea? Constipation? Headaches?

I will let you know tomorrow.....

there's always something to worry about isn't there Julia, I've just got over a bad cough and cold and was so worried I would dislodge little one with all the coughing, sneezing and nose blowing. Don't know what I'd do without the internet to google everything I'm unsure of!

I woke up this morning with palpitations so I got straight onto the internet to see if it was normal and it says that it is (just blood thickening). !!!!!! I am a total stress queen.........I could never have lived years ago when they did not even have phones - I would have died with worry about everything and anything!!!!!

iam not showing yet... and this is my 2nd baby! i have been worried over the weekend to. becouse iam nearly 3months and i defo was showing with my 1st.

x x x i was thinking of buying a doppler thingy, but il be trying to find the heart beat everyday and if i dont find it ill be going crazeeee lol il be grey by time babys here.lol

Hey, its too early for you to be showing yet. I am almost 16 weeks and only just starting to show and only a little bit. I was just like you and worried i wasn't showing but it will happen, promise!

I was very bloated at 9 weeks so couldn't really tell, it's only now that i know i'm growing properly.

If you have a quick read through some of the posts in 2nd tri a lot of the ladies there are still not showing. Every woman grows differently so don't worry if you're not showing yet....you will catch up

hiya julia, i wouldnt worry about not showing... im 17+3 today & STILL not showing. Its annoying me but thought it would reassure you people keep telling me it will appear suddenly one day, i cant wait for that day to come around. All ive done is put on a stone & managed to find that i now have the worlds biggest boobs ever instead hehehehe i need a new uniform at work due to my bust & not a bump
