my camera baby monitor, it was great for when Dior slept in her own room rather then running in at every lil cry i could see on the little tv if she was just having a lil moan or if she had dropped her dummy....

there is sound on it so does the same thing as a baby monitor.
u can take the tv monitor in to any room. at night ild take lil monitor to bed with me in the day i used to plug lil monitor in to the back of my big tv!!

I was thinking we should start a thread like this for all useful items people have bought or Top Tips we could all pass to each other!!

My best buy item was the 'Ocean Wonders' Mobile by Fisher Price.
D/H wanted to buy it originally and I said No cos it was more than I wanted to pay. However it is the best thing we have bought.

Although I have been moaninng that Heidi is grizzly most evenings and in the day sometimes - most of the time I can get her back to sleep or if I want to keep her occupied if I want a shower or somthing - I just turn this on and she loves it.

It has lights, 5 different tunes (one of which really sends her to sleep MOST of the time!!!!) it also converts to table-top use for when they are older

They best buy we have is an Ocean Wonders swing, Charlie loves it sooooooooo much, she will settle in there instantly. we also have an Ocean Wonders cot toy, which has water and lights in it, and it blows bubbles and the fishes swim! Yeahhhhhhhh for fisher price!

Since she was born, Maheen hasbeen fascinated by moroccan lanterns we have in the living room, and the shade they make on the ceiling, so we just bought a fisher price cot mobile off Ebay which also projects stars on the ceiling, has 5 different tunes to play, and a remote control, so we can start it again without entering the room! it's great, works really well, and was a bargain at £13. It's not the ocean wonders but can't tell you what's called..."bearries" or something!

I have just ordered a swing for Heidi (gotta stop this crying somehow!) its a Fisher Price Ocean Wonders one like her mobile.

I'll let you know how we get on with it! is going to cost us a fortune in batteries (the mobile takes batteries too!) so we are having to buy a charger as well!!

Yeah, I know whay you mean about batteries!!!! I bought another thing from France that I received last week, and it also takes batteries, but not the same kind as the mobile!!! so we have to store batteries of 3 different kind, with the bouncer!!! and they take 3 or 4 batteries!!! A little fortune, in the end!

I bought it for less than £13 from ebay, incl P&P, whereas it's £29.90 on the toysrus website...a good bargain! money saved to buy batteries !

How does the swing work, then? Does Heidi like it? I have to say I like them, but it takes quite a lot of space, and..well, just don't want to spend too much money on these stuff, coz there is so much out there that I just could buy her everything! Have to save for childcare! going back to work in July! Thanks God, schools are closed 6 week in the summer so I get to be with Maheen then!...and we are going to France!!!!!!!!

Oh that mobile is soooooo lovely - I love the little wings on them!! It is very similar to ours - thats Fisher Price Ocean wonders - ours has little fishes instead!

The swing is on a stand (I will post a pic on here soon - keep an eye out in the "pictures and stories" thread!!) and it swings in two directions - she really likes it. My only worry is that because she falls asleep in it - I dont want her to get used to be rocked or swung! to sleep if you know what I mean.

have you got your swing yet Lisa? I think it'll really help you out wheh heidi wont settle, charlie loves hers soooooooo much, its the best money ive ever spent. ts pretty good with batterys too, they are just running out now after 10 weeks, i have used the swing a couple of hours a day.

Yes! we have the swing - she absolutly loves it! I have some photos of her in it - they are still on the camera. When I get them downloaded I will post them.

We have bought rechargeable batteries now as her mobile uses the same size and it was costing us an absolute fortune!
