hi ladies, (not sure if this is the right place for this)

i have a few concerns about my oh, its silly i know but hes hoping to pass his drving test on the 1st may and tbh i dont want him to, as we are going away on the 7th may, and he will want to drive. whats worrying me is he'll have only been passed 6days, still be new to the road and theres alot of motorway driving. i would rather do the driving (been passed 6yrs no accidents touch wood) i know if i bring this up im gunna be hurting his feelings and he'll end up thorwing a paddy over it. but id just feel safer, im not the best passagner in a car when on the motorway always trying to hit invisible brakes and tell people to either slow down are speed up. Another thing is i passed in an automatic so can only drive them, hes hoping to pass in a manual. any thoughts please, (maybe if i wasnt pregnant i wouldnt feel like this)

thanks

Zoe

I think you are just going to have to bite the bullet and talk to him - but maybe wait and see if he passes first

Explain your concerns, and compromise by letting him do all the driving whilst you are away?

xxxxxxxx

I can see why you're concerned and especially being pregnate. I drive an auto and love it, I feel so much safer, I can concentrate on the road more and take note of other drivers and what they're doing.

I'd suggest speaking to your OH, addressing your concerns and just see what he says, suggest sharing the driving, taking it in turns, explain that motoway driving can be really exhasting and that as it'll be his first time on the motoway it might be best that you do most of it?? Just an idea. However, on another note have you ever been in a car whilst he's driving? He may be really good?

he still isnt going to be able to drive on the motorway until he has been passed for 6 months or done pass plus so he wont be aloud to drive anyway hun its the law my OH just passed and cant drive to his folks as we have to go onto motorway so now he is doing passplus so he can, plus lowers insurance upto 40% for new drivers x x x

Hmmm once you've passed your test you can drive on motorways... Pass plus just gives you some motorway driving experience and as you said lowers your insurance... and from this summer learners are allowed on the motorways too...

My dad's a driving instructor....

ah right well my OH halfs instrutor is crap then lol x x x

Never heard that you can't drive on motorways?! Not many insurance companies actually take Passplus into consideration now, the cost of doing it was more than what I'd get off my insurance so I didn't bother.

ah see i dont drive and dont intend to as last time i tried to drive i nearly killed myself and my mate by driving into asda itself. thankfully am happy he stoppped the car in time. i dunno if my OH is actually going for passplus anymore his family aint too keen on him doingit x x x

thanks ladies, i did have a word with my OH his reply was well we'll see, he then was on about we both drive, he'd follow me down. but had the best news yesterday, he was hoping to get a bonus ( i sound bitchy i know) but didnt which means he cant afford his insurance.

yes i have seen his driving and tbh its not that good, he trys to show off way too much :(
