A miscarriage is not a nice thing to go through, sometimes it can take more then weeks to recover if not months and for some it can lead to depression...

I misscarried last month and only this week I received a later congratulating me on my pregnancy and an appointment to see a midwife end of next week (my 12 week scan would have been on the 21st august...) .

I just wanted to say to anyone who has recently experienced a lost to please let your hospitals and gps know so they don't send any letters out which can trigger certain thoughts...

Although I have slowly come to terms with my loss it still made me feel a bit funny.

I hope no one minds me posting this...

xx

The exact same thing happened to me hun, I received a letter for an antenatal appointment which I had to ring to cancel and explain what had happened. It certainly wasn't nice but you kinda presume that they would have on record that you had m/c at that hospital :wall:

Sorry it happened to you sharne, hope you are ok & coping alright

Thats horrible but i let my GP and MW know so i didnt get any of that.

I know how you feel

I received my prescription exemption certificate thing in the post yesterday and also when I got back to work a maternity guidelines pack from HR :(

Me too, got my exemption certificate yesterday so that left me in tears for the evening.

Take care

I got rushed to A&E when I was miscarrying and was transferred to a ward where I stayed overnight while they monitored me. As it was the weekend I had to go back on the Monday for a scan to check that everything had passed. The scanning room was on the same ward where I had been and the lady looked at my notes and said "so, you've had a little bit of bleeding..." I then had to explain that no, I'd actually miscarried and had spent 24 hours on their ward! Fortunately she was being very understanding and I couldn't get angry - but had I been in a more emotional state it could have been really awkward. These hospitals just have really poor communication channels which doesn't make things easy.
