8dp5dt bleeding and bfp please help

Hi everyone,
I am currently 8dp5dt and I have been spotting the last few days. Iv been so upset as this was our second go and I convinced myself it was over. Any way, today I thought sod it I'm going to do the test the hospital gave me and it came up with a second line! I can't believe it. It is very faint but definantly there. However I Am still bleeding it is heavier and dark reddy/ brown it's only when I wipe (sorry tmi!) I'm terrorfied something is trying to happen but I'm going to come on and it wil all be over we had 2x very high quality embryos transfered.
Please can someone offer any advice or anyone whose been in this position/knows any thing about it help me out?? I have rang clinic and left a message my official test day is thurs so I'm thinking they will say wait til then but is there any thing I can do to stop the bleeding?? Or is a case of if it's coming it's coming??

Hi, unfortunately there's nothing you can do to stop the bleeding. Dark reddy brown blood is usually old blood so I wouldn't worry too much. many women have some spotting during early pregnancy as long as it's not bright red and accompanied by cramping it's not usually sign of anything serious. I hope it stops soon and everything is ok x

Hi Ann, I also had IVF and I started to spot a bit before testing day, it was the equivalent to 13dpo. I was sure it was over, cried and then did the same as you and used the hospital test. It was positive. I continued to spot for a few days. It went away and then I got spotting again just before 6 weeks, I am under the recurrent miscarriage clinic and they said you can bleed for all sorts of reasons and not to worry unless it was full flow, filling pad and cramps etc. If its only when you wipe then its not overly heavy, hopefully it will just calm down and stop. I also had 2 embryos put in but only one took, I am not sure if you bleed if the other one doesn't take? I wish you all the best xx

Ah thanks everyone! I just don't no what to think tbh as I'm still spotting quite a bit and it is red. The clinic called back to say that a positive is a positive and they have booked me in for a scan on 9th feb but that the bleeding could be one of 3 things: that I'm getting my period (in which case they can't do any thing as if it's coming it's coming), it's implantation or it's because I had 2 embryos put back one of them may not have taken. They just said to take it easy and hopefully the bleeding wil die down. I can't believe this tho I am terrorfied to do any thing in case I start bleeding I hope and pray this sticks this is the closest iv come in 3.5 years to being pregnant. Please please stick!!!! Xxxxx

I remember you from lttc Jun n I am praying u have a sticky bean in there. When I feel pg with Harry I had sum bleeding just before six weeks n was terrified but all was ok so try nit to stress him there is nothing u can do. Fx dir you n big hugs

Hi Michelle, yeah I remember u too! Congratulations on the birth of your son I have t been on her for so long! I'm pretty sure it's amounted to nothing as I am bleeding heavier I have to do another test in the morning as I need to let the clinic know. It's been pure torture just been crying all day I'll just have to pick myself up I suppose and keep trying xxxx

I didn't know you'd done another go of IVF so I'll say congratulations on the BFP anyway! I'm very envious as I've never had one! And apparently you can still have periods if you're pregnant so try not to worry. As Lisey said it could be that just one of them has implanted.

Oh no, so sorry to hear this. Did you get a BFN afterwards? Have you had a consultation? Glad you are so determined. I hope the next few weeks are not too bad for you and you have a few things to take your mind off it a bit. X
