Hi Ladies.

I am now 8 weeks pg today. :cheer:

It has been a week since my scan and now i am starting to worry now. The excitement and happiness i felt when i saw my little babys heartbeat last week is slowly turning into anxiety!! :x

It wouldn't be so bad if your body told you when something bad happened, but my last m/c i found out when i had a scan. So now i have 3 weeks to wait until my next one.

I've still only told DP which is hard and i feel quite lonely sometimes.

Sorry to be a grump.

Laura

hey honey, i miscarried in august and understand your worries completely....but you have to remember that stress is never a good thing and you need to try and stay calm for the sake of you and baby....
dont mean to be hard honey...honest i dont....try and stay positive bxox

im sorry your worrying, i think its pretty normal. agree with beetlesbaby to try aand stay positive

Try not to worry Laura.
Once you've seen a heartbeat, the chances of miscarrying are greatly reduced.
Think positive and look forward to your 12 week scan. Your little baby will have grown so much!

I'm exactly the same Laura. You're not alone, we all feel scared and anxious, especially those that have had losses

I had a scan at 8w3d and I'm convinced that the heartbeat we saw was just the midwife moving the wand thingy too fast.
Silly isn't it, I saw the heartbeat myself and so did DH but you still convince yourself of the worst.

Try to stay positive and count down until your 12 weeks scan  That's all we can do. I'm trying to count down until my booking in appointment next week and then it'll be count down until the 12 week scan.
I just feel that if I set myself targets I'll feel better each time I pass them.

Although judging by the wind and constipation things are still going ok :rotfl:

Thanks guys

Is it true once you've seen the heartbeat your chance of mc is reduced?
By how much?

I'm just having a depressive day, been really down lately, what with work and family issues. Won't go into it no-one wants to here my probs but you know, the hormones don't help.

Can't help wondering if its the wrong time and if i've made a mistake. When i was pg before i was so happy and excited. This time its all worry and anxiety and stress. I don't know whats wrong with me, i should be really happy

There may be something in seeing the heartbeat, but I think it is more to do with your brain and how you wire it. The most important thing of all to do in pregnancy is be happy and stay positive. i now that can be hard, but you have find it within ourself. We all worry, but it is bad for the baby, and it istrue that seeing/hearing the heartbeat and other things like feeling the baby create that positive mood to an extent, because it eleviates the worry about whether baby is ok, but the rest of the time it must come from within.

Maybe I'm finding it too easy to be positive. I have had to work my way through a lot of things which has given me that power. I have had my down moments like the rest though. I can't stress the importance enough, of Mum to baby emotion. I'm sorry if it sounds harsh.. :)

Of curse sleep deprivation causes low moods and anxiety too. Always make sure you rest, even if you feel you shouldn't because you should. It is a baby you are making afterall. I have to go before my hand drops off. It is so cold i can harldy move my fingers around the keyboard. :?

Thanks for that link charm.

Wow those stats are good aren't they a heartbeat at 6 weeks means 78% of pg continuing and at 8 weeks a 98% chance of it continuing.

Well my scan was a 7 weeks so i uess that means a 88% chance, lol!

Beats the 1 in 4 pg end in mc stat that the doctors love to tell you!

They should tell people that at their scans, its very reassuring.

And thanks for the message icecream. I know i should chill out, it's just so hard and i think my hormones aren't helping :(

I'm going to have a long warm bath and early night tonigh, DP has band practise so i will have some ME time!

Ooh that sounds good, I might have a nice warm shower and get a take away. I was out at my folks last night for a Halloween party so I could do with a chilled out night myself.
Shame I can't get rid of DH though

I think the 1 in 4 the Dr talks about includes people who miscarry really really early and think it was a late period. We're not totally safe but it's a great feeling to know that chance reduces day by day.

Roll on 12 weeks...

Have a great Night de-stressing

Hey girls, definitely good news that you've seen a heart beat so try and relax now and enjoy your pregnancy.
I miscarried last year at around 7 weeks and someone on here posted me a message to say that sometimes getting pregnant is like blowing up a balloon - it's hard first time round and sometimes doesn't work but next time, because you've already had a practice, it's easier and it works.
Simple but it really helped me.
I was like you and worried a lot in the first 12 weeks. I was tearful and anxious but I think it's normal - especially if you've been through the pain of a loss before - so don't beat yourself up for feeling that way.

Just like my post yesterday! I'm sure you will feel better soon hun.

I'm sure if I was uber-rich like Madonna or Victoria Beckham I'd have an ultrasound technician living in my house! :D

Thanks for all your replies!

I had a lovely night destressing and a nice warm bath and early night,

But today i feel the most un-pregnant i have felt since i found out. usually i'm nauseous, bloated and cramp, today i feell 100% normal.

Is that a bad sign....

Not at all, I feel completely normal too.

It's just now and again later in the day I get trapped wind and in bed at night I get tender boobs. But usually day to day I feel perfectly normal and not the slightest bit pregnant.
Which is great because some people suffer terrible with morning sickness and other stuff.

Oh well thats good,

It;s just last time i m/c i never really got any symptoms except cramping. So when the symptoms go i feel a bit worried.

Sorry to pee eberyone off with my negativity but i can't help it, i just don't want to lose peanut.

This was exactly how I was feeling in the early bit of this preg .. I couldn't believe it was going ok. The stats after you've seen a h/b are pretty darn good and you should get more reassurence at your 12 weeks scan ( the time will fly by-- promise :) )
All I did was take it one day at a time and was happy just to be getting through towards second tri. Chin up hunny you are getting there

Hey there sweetie!

Let me just say- you and I are in the SAME boat...literally, we're even due the same day!! I wanted to let you know, that for me, having several pregnancy losses, obviously I have nerves and I'm scared, but I'm telling you, I am really starting to relax. My Dr. told me yesterday, that after you see a heartbeat, it's a VERY slim chance you'll miscarry!

Just be healthy, happy, and let the time fly!!! I'm sure you and I will be OK!

Take Care, and if you ever need to be scared...I'll be scared with you. :) Lets just look forward to November 29th, eh? That's our 12 week mark!!

Hi Aimee,

Thanks for your message. Wow we are due the same day, thats cool!

How are feeling, symptom wise.

Mine are on and off, felt a bit rough this weekend. Which of course is good!

Yeah, roll on 29th nov for our 12 weeks! Although my scan is on the 22nd (11 weeks). So hopefully that will be fine and dandy!

Blah- my symptoms aren't THAT bad I guess, as I've had no actual throwing up, but I have day long nausea, constipation BIG time, moodiness, and my boobs have hurt since I was 5 weeks!

I just want this sick feeling to GO AWAY!
