Sam's got his first set of jabs this afternoon and I am really not looking foward to it :(

How were your LO's after they had theirs done?

***********************************************************

He screamed and was really upset  then they did the other leg and he was sobbing. I filled up  I really didn't like my baby being in pain.

We're having a cuddle now and he's having a bottle, then i'm going to give him some Calpol.

I'm dreading the next lot even more.

The 1st she cried for a second then stopped. They say they cry more with the 2nd. She screamed. I took my OH for support and he said he thought i was gonna cry! I wanted to. The doctor said i could pick her up and cuddle her so i did. Got her dressed then handed her to her Daddy. He walked around with her to calm her down. By the time we got home she smiled. Was a bit grizzly later on but i was given a prescription for Calpol. I didn't buy any and pleased i handed as it was free.
To even things out though i had the Depo injection! I thought it was only fair! Lol

I'm dreading it. Sam is in a really good mood this morning as well lots of smiles and giggles for his Mummy.
My OH can't come with me he can't get away from work and he's scared of needles he'd probably be worse than Sam

I felt really bad coz just before her injections she was in a brilliant mood! Even when i stripped her off in the surgery she was smiling and chattering to me, and the doctor! I was hoping she'd react like when she had her Vit K injection. She didn't make a sound. It's best for them in the long run, but it's just so cruel. I wouldn't let her go the rest of the day. I kept cuddling her just to let her know mummy's not mean really!

Sam didn't bat an eyelid either for his Vit K either.

I'll post later how he gets on.

I know how ya feel - the poor little blighters are happily sitting on your lap, then an evil nurse comes along and stabs them in the thigh with a needle - I think I'd cry too!

When my LO had his jabs he screamed initially, but settled within about 5-10 mins with some cuddles.

My HV suggested that I give him a shot of calpol when I got home, and maybe again before his last feed of the day if he was still a bit grizzly. She also said to avoid touching/rubbing his legs in case it was a bit tender - so it'd be worth having yours in loose fitting tracky bottoms so easy to change nappy etc.

Good luck

I never thought of putting him in loose fitting bottoms.

Thanks for that Zodiac

I'd be interested to know how he gets on. My daughter has hers in 2 weeks.

I hope he's alright with them.

Why today is he in such a lovely mood :(

He keeps snoozing and waking up for a little while giving me a smile then nodding back off.

 I'm dreading it.

I hate injections myself, never mind for my little baby

However she grimaced slightly at the first jab, then didnt bat an eyelid at the second jab in her other leg. No tears or anything.

So you never know he may suprise you and not be bothered at all by them.

Green Bean has his 2nd lot at 4pm :(

He screamed the surgery down with his first ones and I sat in the car and had a cry after
But once he had calmed down he was fine and there were no after affects.

What upsets me is that they have one in each leg now - with DD it wasone jab a bit of screaming but then I could cuddle her and walk around for a bit and she would calm down, now I have to hold him still while he is screaming the place down for the Dr to jab the other leg  I really wish I had declined the pneumoccocal vaccine now and asked them to give it to him when he was 1 like they didd with DD.

Chester has just had his this morning. He was meant to have them last week but got cancelled cus he had a fever with a cold.

I actually did cry when they did the 2nd injection! He just got over the first one and was looking at me then the HV did it and he went bright red and screamed! I felt so sorry for him

I've given him some calpol and he's asleep now but he was really grizzly before he fell asleep.

Oh well... 4 more weeks til we have to do it again.

Good luck Sam and Emma x

George had his and was fine - barely a wimper. 2nd ones aren't as bad

Plus he slep for 6 hours last night... a record!!

I'm hoping his 2nd one is not as bad

If he sleeps for a full 6 hours i'll be really chuffed!!!

I felt physically sick when he had his first jabs and he screamed the building down and wasnt himself until the next day. At his 12 week jabs i felt awful as soon as the nurse said hi to him he was smiling away and giggling! i made him a bottle before we went and as soon as he had the jab i gave it to him, he literally cried for 2 mins then forgot all about it and he was fine. same for the 16 weeks to, helped loads giving him a bottle after.
