Anyone else like this?! I was overweight anyway and this isn’t helping matters. I am combi feeding (fully BFing for a couple of weeks) so think that’s the only thing that’s stopped me putting 5 stone on. As it is I’ve put 3-4lbs on. I know BFing increases your appetite but it’s ridiculous, literally craving everything sweet and can’t stop myself. I’m struggling a bit with PND so that won’t help as have always been emotional eater. Any one else have similar issues or advice how to stop!? X

Im still snacking and eating a lot, I don't know if a lot of it is being couped up and lots of wintery weather. But mainly i think its tiredness, because although im eating allsorts its sugary things i want.

How much sleep are you getting?

I haven't really noticed a reduction in eating from pregnancy vs now but i think breastfeeding makes me hungry too. Probably a lot of different factors.

I'm just angry that if i have to eat ... I seem incapable of making healthy choices these days!

I read something recently that apparently it's quite common when breastfeeding to crave sweet things. Can't remember if there's a scientific reason for it. I am 9 weeks post natal and craving sweet things too.

Thanks ladies glad I’m not alone! Mel that is my issue too, plenty of healthier choices around but I bypass them. Probably because unhealthy things require opening a wrapper and zero prep. Mrs C I think I read that too about sweet stuff - so cruel!? At least we are burning extra calories but I need to take advantage of that and can’t. Trying again today. Porridge for breakfast and nothing else... so far x

I really think tiredness makes me go for a sugar hit and if breastfeeding mums feed a lot during the night maybe thats why?

Are you exercising? I know it’s difficult but I’ve found a walk to be really really helpful to combat tiredness and then help with healthy eating choices.

But I’m also struggling. I’ve had 4 stroopwaffles today with cups of tea.

For the first time I’ve managed to have a proper walk today actually Torino! Toddler is in nursery and the sun is out for a change. Dh forgot to leave me pram out from car so dug out carrier and went and I do feel tonnes better for it. I find it so much harder with a 3 year old to manage but he’s in nursery 2 days a week so think I’ll have to use this time to get some walks etc in x

Glad you’re feeling better for the walk. I swear by it. Though I did too much yesterday giving I’m only 7 days post partum. doing an almost 7k walk was not a good idea. My undercarriage has been suffering and weak pelvic floors are causing issues!
