7 week scan - question

Just wondered - is the 7 week scan transabdominal or transvaginal?

Also - do they measure the heart rate and tell you what it is?

My 7w scan was trans abdominal. They didn't tell us the heart rate but you could see it clearly beating away.

If you do happen to need a transvaginal scan- don't worry they are not sore and the scanner they use is very thin- you won't really feel anything.

i had the vaginal scan on wednesday..
nothing to worry about at all. i was told i was 6w5d.
it didnt hurt n u can hardly feel a thing, and yeah i could see the heartbeat xx

My 7 week scan was trans abdnomina. They showed me the heart beat and that was it.

It was such a relief to see the hearbeat that I didn't even think of asking anything else. xxx

I had my last scan on Friday last week (eight weeks)and it was trans vaginal...its a bit embarressing but it doesn't hurt. The trans vaginal ones are amazing, I even saw the baby move!!!! You can hear the heart beat too...which is absolutly wonderful.

When I had my daughter 8 years ago, a 7 week scan consisted of a blurry pixel that flashed on and off and signifed a heart beat....I can believe how far technology has progressed, its amazing!!!
