Can't think of any we like!
We are team yellow and have trawled websites but can't find anything!
Jessica and Joseph are the only two we've even spoke twice about!
Husband is Irish, I'm English and surname is Kavanagh. Looking for something a bit unusual but not way out there...... Any suggestions of names or a good site to use?

Eeeek, I wouldn't know where to start listing names as assuming you've discounted most to only have two possible choices?! Would be here all day :)

I would probably start looking back through these and narrowing it down to types of names you like, then researching /asking for similar suggestions ?

http://www.babycentre.co.uk/popular-baby-names

Or trawl though the posts already on here as loads of suggestions there. Sorry, not huge amounts of help.

I like Jessica/Jessie and I know a few small babies that get Joey, which is cute x

i loved Malachi for a boy but hubby wasnt having any of it. i also loved cecelia for a girl but hubby wasnt having that either

he liked Anakin (starwars fan lol) but i wasnt having that

The names we like are
boy

girls

Jennifer
Alys (or Alice)
Lucy
Emelia
Kate

If hes irish and you're english, you could try looking for Irish names you like, but with the english spelling. I have a very irish first name and no-one can ever pronounce it, so dont put them through that! Just as an example, names like Siobhan but spelt Shevaughan or Shevaun, if you get what I mean!! xx

Jessica and Joseph are lovely. I found websites to be a nightmare, there's just tooooo many names to trawl through. I started just noting down any that I heard or saw in books etc that I took a fancy to.

I absolutely loved Elara for a girl but hubby wasn't keen so we agreed on Lucia (loo-see-a, although you could pronounce it other ways) for our girl's name. A few others that I had on my v long list were Alexis, Calla, Ella, Freya, Jasmine, Libby, Melody, Nola, Ruby, Seren, Tilly.

For boys we Have Oliver at the top of our list and both loved Max too but it doesn't go with our surname! I have had a hard time narrowing down boy's names as there is so many that I like. I've tried not to list too many but some we had in mind were Harry, Charlie, Elliot, Finn, Harrison, Harvey, Leo, Sonny, Toby, Samuel, William, Benjamin.

A good thing to do aswell is to look at the credits at the end of films/tv shows!

Jessica and Joseph are lovely names. Love the name Seren, it's Welsh for star.
The only Irish type names I can think of off the top of my head are: Ava, Briana, Teagan and Caitlin for a girl.
Or Niall, Kian, Fintan and Riley for a boy.

Thanks all.
What do people think of the name Phyllis for a girl? Would be after my nan. I'm not sure if it's a first name......

I think you have to go for what you want, although I can think of a couple of bad words that sounds like Phyllis, but then I worry about mean kids alot! does OH like it? I think its nice to remember family members with the middle name and give them a first name that is unique to them xx

Lol, I know the words you mean!!!
I worry with Phyllis as she will be called Phyl as my nan is..... Not sure. I do t think Jessica Phyllis sounds right....

You could have a look at some of the top baby names in England and Wales? Even if you're not looking for something massively popular, you could download the baby names spreadsheets and start from the bottom - i.e. with the hundredth-most popular name? You might not pick a name from here, but you might get an idea of the types of names you agree on? http://www.ons.gov.uk/ons/search/index.html?newquery=baby+names
