So I'm going for a 4D scan on Monday and I can't stop thinking that my little Miss will turn into a little Mr. I think it's just me being strange, as I have been throughout this whole pregnancy.

I am just curious as to if anyone else has had these feelings or if it has actually happened to anyone else? Also for those who have had one, was the 4D scan what you expected it to be?

Note: Having a little boy wouldn't upset me, but I have gotten a fair bit of little girl clothing and pink bedding and stuff that I have fallen so in love with and would be upset if I did have to return them.

Hiyaa! Im having the exact same worries! Im having my second 4d scan on Sunday and im scared for incase she turns out to be a he! I had a 4d sexing scan at 17 weeks and they only just managed to se she was a girl because she was being reeeally awkward! And at my 20 weeks scan they also said she was a girl but only just could tell again. Again like you I wouldnt mind a boy at all but ive already got everything in pinks and all the girly dresses and colours. Im having a growth scan in a week and im still gonna be asking them! Just to make sure she hasnt miraculously grown a willy overnight! LOL :) xx

Thanks for the reply Haylea, at least I'm not just being some strange and crazy mummy to be and that someone else has the same feelings. I was like you, my 18 week (anomaly) scan with the NHS took 15 mins longer than normal as the sonographer couldn't get clear images of anything as she wouldn't stop moving the whole time and stayed facing towards my back which made it harder. She said it looked like a girl and when asked how sure she was, she said she wasn't allowed to say she was 100% sure but that it looked like a girl throughout the whole scan.

Let me know how your scan goes and if she is still a she :)

Haha I think everyone worries about it! :) Ooh I will do! You'll have to let me know how yours goes too! :)
Im soo excited for this one as Im gonna see what she looks like and everything! :) What company is your 4d scan with? If you dont mind me asking

I was the same the whole way through my pregnancy even though at the 20 week scan it was blatently obvious I was carrying a boy!!

Jack is most definately a boy lol :) x

I'm going through Ultrasound Now, I have used them twice already earlier in the pregnancy and they are great. What one are you going through to do yours?

Claire, did you want to find out Jack's sex or was it that obvious without them saying it?

I've been worried about this the whole time! I've bought SO much pink! I've also had 3 growth scans since my 20 week scan, and at each one I've forgotten to ask the sonographer to double check! :wall:

I'm using a place called window to the womb it's based in Nottingham, it's a lovely place! They're so friendly and funny! :) they were really patient with me aswell as my baby really wasn't co-operating and I had to go for 3 walks before they saw, they spent about an hour and a half trying for me and she finally moved slightly so we could just see! :) x

Hate to butt in but I'm scared of this too.
I only found out she's a she on Thursday but I'm still terrified of finding out she's actually a he!
My Dad's just booked a 4D sexing scan for me when I'm around 24 weeks, how on earth I'm going to be patient until then I have no idea

Wishing you all the best for your scan! xxx

i did this to, i have two boys so i found it very hard to believe that where having a girl so we had a 4d scan. but she is definatly a girl woop :)

Just booked my 4D scan for 3rd September  I'll be 25 + 3 weeks pregnant! xxx

I have just gotten back from my 4D scan and everything went well and she is still definitely a she. :pompom:

I am concerned however about how big she is (3lbs 6ozs). Has anyone else been told that they have or have previously had a big baby for how far along they are?

The sizing isn't always accurate! I've been going by my fundal height chart, and i have been in tears over how big its saying my little one is! So much so, that at my last midwife's appointment my mum mentioned it to her. My midwife says that for the most part ignore what they say in regards to weight, they're normally concerned with the lengths etc rather than the estimated weight.

Thanks for the reply, She did say that her lengths were on the high end of the normal range but still all in good proportion and is measuring at 29 weeks 6 days.

My main concern was that I did something wrong with my diet or something to have her be so big right now. And yes, I do constantly worry about doing something wrong with this pregnancy :)

Yes we wanted to know, I kept saying to my OH 'oh look at the hand waving' and 'look there's the heart beating' etc and he kept saying 'I can't see it as quick as you'. Then she went down the bottom end to see if she could tell us the sex and as she did my OH said 'well I think thats pretty obvious isn't it!' lol x

You're welcome! My mw said that if she thought there was anything to worry about regarding size that she would have sent me for scans and diabetes testing, presumably yours would have done the same
