42 day cycle - when is ovulation? When should I test?

Does anyone have a 42 day cycle? If so when do you expect ovulation? At midpoint of cycle or later or earlier?

I've read some conflicting things online some say midpoint some say cd 28 (because of the Luteal phase being only 10-14 days).

My last cycle I got a positive opk at cd14 but then went on to have a 42 day cycle.

This cycle I did opk test around 14 and was negative but it go darker at 15 but then I just stopped testing. I am cd 30 today and I did a hpt on cd 28 which was bfn. Then I have read today that my ovulation may have only been on cd28...

So confused .... Appreciate your replies xx

I've longer cycles... my last pg I ov cd 34 which was a 48day cycle in total.
2nd pregnancy I ov cd22 and I Tested positive 14days later...
So my leutal phase was always 14days.
I would've imagine with a 48day cycle it would be day 28 ud ov.Just keep testing everyday

I have long cycles too. Not quite as long but 34/35 days and o was usually around CD21 so very roughly about 2 weeks before AF. If you're not sure of when you O Id try to keep DTD every 2nd day so that you have a chance no matter when it happens. Good luck x

I ovulated cd28 this time after my miscarriage & tested positive 10days later... The longer the lutheal phase the thicker your uterine lining gets which helps implantation )

Thanks girls that gives me a bit of a better idea! Dtd yesterday which was cd29 so hopefully I still have a chance. Dtd a lot the week or so before thinking ovulation may have been earlier in cycle so I am probably out this cycle!! Hopefully still could happen though xx

My cycles were really long and all over the place, I used a clear blue digital ovulation kit this time so knew when I ovulated but I just kept testing x

Hey hun..
Im currently ttc baby no2 as of this cycle.. Since aug last year i came off my pill to try and regulate my cycles as they have been 40+ since having him!

Anyway, reason for my comment is that last cycle i took seven seas ttc vits & agnus castus tablets.
I came on yesterday. My last cycle was 31 days. SO THEY WORKED!
I couldnt recommend them enough!
So i was commenting incase you were thinking of wats to try and shorten/regulate it.

Im doing the CB trail this cycle so will be testing with their digi opks, so hoping everything falls in place.

I'll definitely look into it! I appreciate your advice! Long cycles suck for ttc as they trick you and you don't have as many chances !!
