Not sure what to expect at my appointment tomorrow. Last time I saw my mw she seemed to think i'd have had my baby! Wishing me all the best, bless her!

She didn't say what would happen if I was overdue (albeit by 1 day but evenso!)

I assume I'll have the usual urine test, bp check, measurement of uterus and fetal heart monitor? Will I be expected to have a sweep though? I've noticed a few women who are a day or so overdue seem to have a sweep done by the midwife - just wondered if this is normal procedure?

hey! i had a sweep today and im 2 days over, so you may well! it is just like a normal appointment, just had the sweep today which was the only out of the ordinary about mine today. and she booked me in for another sweep and then an induction. just in case. my midwife seemed quite sure i wouldnt need these appointments, but we will see, i reckon youll have the same sort of thing. x

Hope you get a sweep and things start to happen. My goodness between you, lexi and emmamb someone is bound to have their baby tomorrow!! x

I'm at mw 2mrw (if he doesn't show b4) and il just have a normal appt, then a sweep will b booked for next Friday! Have they told wrn they normally offer sweep/induction etc xx

No, nothing has been mentioned to me about a sweep. I've not found my mw to be very "on the ball" to be honest. On my maternity notes she hasn't to date wrote in how engaged the babies head is, so I have no clue! Also, because on my last 2 appointments while she was measuring my uterus she felt the babies movements, she didn't bother with the doppler machine, but still wrote in my note "fetal heart heard through FH machine".

That's why I thought that when you are overdue, a sweep was just part of the procedure and my mw had assumed I knew this.

It isn't just on here that I have read about people having sweeps when they go overdue, my friend had a sweep (different midwife to me) the day after her due date.

I'm leaving home at 9.30 for my 9.50 appointment, so I guess I'll find out then and perhaps need to ask unless she offers any information! :eh:

Because I'm a first time Mum, I have kind of sat back and not said much, but I'm getting a bit frustrated with the 'slip ups' and certain things not being discussed properly or my notes being filled out correctly. So she may see a different side to me today!

I defo want to ask how engaged the head is, because I think it's important for me to know really...

how come the sweep so far away?! mine was 2 days after due date and then one tomorrow which is 4 days after due date!! thats mad, thought they would do it sooner?! x

She did it today at 40+1.

I just wasn't sure whether she would do one today cos there was no mention of it at my last appointment. But she offered it straight away :) My next one is in a weeks time (Thurs) then if still not had him by 7th Feb I'm being admitted into hospital.
