Hi

I have posted about my ERPC a number of times on here for advice from you fab ladies.

I have been having period like pains over the passed couple of days and presumed it was my period coming. Today the pain was very bad and my period hadn't arrived so I thought I must have picked up another bladder infection (I was treated for one 2 weeks ago with antibiotics) so off I toddled to the doctors sample in hand.

There was no urine infection present and the doctor cant really give an explanation apart from my tender uterus. He has given me some stronger antibiotics and asked me to go back on Monday. I was in a great deal of pain this afternoon and it particular hurt when a tried to move my bowels!!?

I am so confused and have started to panic a little. Has anyone had anything similar. I am going to start the course of antibiotics with dinner tonight and I have been strictly told not to drink alcohol so they must be a bit stronger than the amoxicillain I had before.

Any words would be most appreciated

I am of course thinking up all of these horrible horror stories to do with my repoductive parts.

Hi Mrskb

Sorry to hear you are going through this right now!! I can't really offer any advise on erpc, I had a natural miscarraige, but I have heard/read that after erpc it is normal to have bleeding/cramps over the weeks following the procedure. If you are in lots of pain though, maybe go to your hospital where the erpc was carried out and ask them to check everything is ok? At least this would settle your mind a bit, I know what its like to think up all sorts of horror stories!!! I think after any kind of m/c, the uterus is very tender for a period of time, I know after my m/c I felt tender down there up until recently. That is probably what the pain you are feeling is, every women experiences m/c differently. I hope you feel better soon, and if the pain gets any worse do go to your hospital to get checked out hon xxx

Thanks Karolina - I hope you are doing ok and I am sorry to hear about your loss

I did call the gynae ward this afternoon for some advice and they advised me to go to see my GP in the first instance as we discussed my symptoms and thought it may be another urinary infection but this was not the case.

My GP was very understanding and if I am not feeling right by my appointment on Monday I will push for a referral back to the gynae department.

It is so hard, just as I thought I was starting to return to normal this has stirred up all my emotions again.

Thats good they are looking after you then!! It sounds like it is just normal type pain after a mc and as far as I know after erpc things are tender for a while!! It is rare for any complications to occur, so try not to worry!! It is indeed very hard, and I find that when you least expect it, you feel emotions you never even knew you had !!! I've had a tough couple of days myself, but we gotta keep our heads up and think positive :):) xxxx

Absolutely Karolina - let's keep out heads up for each other!

Hun they've probably put you on metronidazole and its really not a good idea to drink with those, they can make you quite sick. I hope you are doing ok and they do the trick and calm everything down xx

Hi dysco

They did put me on metronidazole so I have been off the pop at the weekend. I dont ever drink in the week so was designated driver for me and hubby this weekend.

I am feeling so much better now - my period came on Thursday and although it has been a bit odd (heavy bleeding for 2 days then nothing then light spotting) I am feeling so much better in myself. Went to the doctors this morning and he advised me to wait a cycle before trying again but am feeling chilled out. My poor hubbie is being so understanding as I have been poorly but think he is missing the sexy time....

xx

Aw hun, glad you are feeling a bit better, don't forget to give the metronidazole time to get out your system too, I'd stay off the pop for a couple of days after you stop the course too! I was given tham after my mc and really could have done with a glass of wine, instead was designated driver at my own engagement party (with OH folks, 2 days after medical management :( and none knew). Hope period goes back to normal soon, I'm sure it will xxxx

Glad u feeling better sending a massive hug xx

Thanks lovely ladies - was going to have another weekend off the pop just to make sure as I only finish the course tomorrow

xx
