4 weeks & bleeding

Hi ladies!

I’m after some advice if anyone can give any.
I’m 4 weeks 5 day pregnant. Yesterday around 1pm I started bleeding, I noticed it when I wiped and it was pale so obviously I thought ‘implantation bleeding’ I wiped again and it was much darker red, so I know it wasn’t that. I put a pad in and lay on the sofa for about half an hour. I went back to the toilet and there was spotting on the pad, again it was a dark red. The rest of the day it was like a like period. I called 111 and they advised me to have a phone appointment when my doctor. I spoke to the doctor and he didn’t seem too concerned because I hadn’t got any severe pain. I had very very mild period like cramps. He said if the bleeding became worse and I had strong pains then to go to A&E but if not to get a scan at 6 weeks.
The rest of the night I just relaxed and by the time I went to bed the bleeding was a watery pink colour.
I put a clean pad in for bed. Woke up this morning and checked my pad straight away, it was clean. I walked to the bathroom and then I felt something, I went to the toilet and there was fresh blood, no clots that I could see.
I’m still bleeding, still fresh blood, still mild period like cramp, still no clots.
I don’t really know what to do now. Is it a chemical pregnancy?
Has anyone experienced anything like this?

Any advice or stories would be great

Have you done another test hun to check it is still positive? I know lots of women do get bleeding and everything turns out ok, sometimes there’s no explanation for it x

Yeh I did another test this morning and it was positive.
I don’t know what doing on and it’s doing my head in xx

I doubt it would be implantation bleeding as that happens before you get a positive test.
A chemical pregnancy is when you get a positive test before your period is due then your period starts as normal.
I think the advice your doctor gave is correct - keep an eye on it and if it gets really heavy or you have pain then get checked. A scan before 6 weeks wouldn't tell you anything anyway.
Lots of people have light bleeding in early pregnancy and everything is fine x

There’s has been clots. Still no pain other than very mild period like cramps.
I think it’s very likely it’s a miscarriage xx

**another update**

Caller 111 again last night and a doctor called me about 11.30pm. Told her I was bleeding, passing a few small clots and very mild period like cramps. She didn’t seem concerned. She told me to get a follow up appointment with my doctor and he should refer me to the EPU for an early scan. I’m 5 weeks on Tuesday so i’ll Have to wait a week or so before the scan. The bleeding has calmed down. Had dark red fresh blood when I went to the toilet first thing but there wasn’t really anything on my pad. Been to the toilet a couple of times since and there’s only been blood when I’ve wiped and it’s pale pink.

I’m feeling pretty positive tbh girls

Just just done a test, it’s my first line test I’ve only done digi ones, the line is faint but my pee was basically clear. I’ll test again with my first wee in the morning xx

Hi hun,

Sorry your going through this. Have you tested again?
Lots of women bleed during pregnancy (I am one of them) but bleeding is usually a mc (I’ve had 2). It’s really traumatising waiting for a scan so I’m glad your feeling positive.
