The good thing about working in A&E is that when I just dont feel right I can do a water sample and have it tested which is how I;ve found out I have another water infection. Last nights sample showed infection and Keytones which wasnt the greatest news so on another course of antibiotics.

The A&E Dr spoke to the Gynae Registrar as well about the fact I keep getting one infection after another and have been advised that I will need to be referred to the Consultant again asap as I may need to be put on a low dose daily antibiotic until baby is born to prevent possible early labour!

Got a midwife appointment at 1pm so will see what she recommends. I have a Consultant led antenatal appointment at 28 weeks but think that might be too long to wait to see about the long term antibiotics.

Crickey, and I was feeling hard done to with 3rd infection in 8 months... hope your MW helps this afternoon :flower:

Hope you get some resolution - Im prone to these awful UTI's aswell

i would keep up your water intake and get some advice from MW how to resolve this...goodluck...let us know what she says xx

Well, all midwife did was offer me her sympathy(and a tissue cos I got upset over feeling like crap all the time and guilty for not enjoying this pregnancy so far) and told to see my GP about a referral to the Gynae Consultant although they will just keep checking my urine more often but no other advice given. I haven't even met my midwife yet and have had a stand in one from another team for both appointments so far.

Im surprised she didnt give u any advice and its so annoying not having a regular midwife!!
Well when i had a water infection the main thing they said was to drink plenty of water....cranberry juice is very good and plenty of fresh fruit and veg!
got these tips from some websites for you....
"You can help prevent UTIs in several ways. First, you should always drink plenty of liquids (water is the best). You should urinate often. Don't wait for long periods of time before you urinate. Always urinate after sexual intercourse. After you urinate, always wipe from front to back to prevent the spread of bacteria."
this website is good http://womenshealth.about.com/od/urinarytractinfections/a/preventuti.htm
good luck hun...and i would get them to keep a regular check on ur urine...xx
