Hi All,

Just wondering..has any body got a 3 D/4D scan for their babies..A friend told me at work that it is good and best to have between 28-30 weeks..I do have a scan booked at 32 weeks by my consultant but was wondering if this scan gives a better look of the baby..

Plz share your experience in case any of you have had it or planning to have it..

Thanks

I had a 4d scan last week, it was amazing!! She didn't like showing her face much but we did get some really clear facial pictures. We were 27 weeks at the time so plenty of room for her to move about :)

We went to window to the womb in Nottingham £99 for 6 5x7 and 1 a4, Dvd 15 mins long and 25 digital pictures :)

Thanks Esoames..This sounds great...I am based in London so will quickly find a good center where I can have the scan..it complete sound worth it..:)

Hi there,

I had a 3D/4D scan at 25 weeks (see my avatar) and it was AMAZING! I went to Kent Medical Imaging near Tonbridge Wells for a £60 scan to confirm the sex of the baby (because the sonographer at the NHS one didn't sound 100% sure) and they just did the 3D/4D included in the price without us asking or anything. I'd definitely recommend that place, they are fantastic! We got a DVD of the whole scan and 27 pics included in the £60 price of the scan.

Were going to book the same place in canvey. how long in advance did you book ?

i really want one of these too, i have found 2 places, one in castleford n barnsley that are about £159 for the top package but a wkend surcharge of £20 so will have to see if we can sneak off work early,

all my recently pregnant friends have had them, and recommended em so think we maybe going to get one,

i really wana find out the sex of the baby now tho, im soooo bad!!! lol

xxx

my oh really wants to do this so our parents can come see too,it is expensive but once in a lifetime thing i suppose n something to keep. xx

Thats great I am glad so many of us agree that this is a worth scan...Just to let you all know based on the research the best time to have it is between 28-30 weeks..most of the scan centers have advance bookings so please get yourself booked soon and do share the pics..:)

can't decide if having this scan would ruin the surprise of what bay looked like etc , but like the idea of the dvd that you can see your scan for years after , I woud wonder how easy it would be to find out by accident on the sex of baby and ruin my surprise?

What do you think?

No, you definitely won't see the sex of the baby unless you want to as as it's not done like a normal scan. They keep the probe still on the face or arms or whatever part you are looking at as otherwise it will skew the image. Look at some on youtube and you'll see what I mean.

I think i booked about a month in advance, maybe more, but i was getting worried as apparently they get busy. The people there are lovely :) And at 28weeks we got really good pics and he was breech which gave us better pics anyway. x
