My wife: she'll be 39 weeks this Saturday

Everything is fine
But... how do we know all is OK?

We've got a 4 year old who keeps us very very busy!
The thing is... we had an appointment for a check up at 39 weeks at the hospital

They said that my wife's water levels were low and she had to have a cesarian (I know I've spelt this wrong!) the next day
Before this: all seemed to be perfectly fine

Now... our appoint with the hospital is next week on Thursday - this will be 2 days away from being 40 weeks

I really don't want to sound paranoid, but what if all is not OK right now
We last saw our midwife last Friday - for the last time... over to the hospital now to take care of things

What if there's a minor problem like the water levels being low again?

I would have appreciated a check up for 39 weeks as well!

I know I'm being anxious and cautious

I'd really like some feedback on what others think

Thanks

Omar

Ahhh i know what you mean about worrying even though you've been told all is ok. I've been lucky to have a problem free pregnancy and every week midwife does the checks and says good, all is fine! But you still think are you sure?

The best indicator is that your wife can feel baby moving regularly and if the movements suddenly drop or stop then call your midwife, apart from that its just a waiting game till they arrive really!

Good luck!

thank you :)
i just got off the phone after speaking to the midwife at hospital
and she in effect said the same as you
she said the best person who knows if the baby is ok is mum
she said that if we're concerned about anything: we can always just walk in and have everything checked

still slightly cautious though: with our first baby, my wife felt everything was ok
it was the hospital who told us that the baby had turned after being engaged and that water levels were too low
there was no way she could have known...?

everything seems to be ok (apart from wife not being able to move around much!)
so... we'll leave it to the next appointment

Try not to worry too much. I know its easier said then done. If you have any doubts or questions then call the hospital or go in and get it checked out thats what they are there for. Also post away on here. Everyone is soo helpful!
