38 soon to be 39 and First time TTC

Hi! This is my first post as I am looking for others in my situation. I will be 39 in November, we just started TTC in August. I used preseed because I had a friend that was very successful with that. I am due to start my period tomorrow. On Thursday when I wiped I noticed a brownish discharge thought it was period starting early because I also had cramps , later that night I wiped and noticed bright pink/red blood. I have had nothing since and cramps are gone. I did take a test yesterday if was negative, I tested early because I know it could possibly show that you are pregnant. If I don't start tomorrow I will test again. I'm scared at age and what happened that my cycles will not be regular now, they have been consistant at 28 days.

Hey hun I’m 40 and first month of trying I think I have a short Lp so hoping this won’t prove problematic ..... I’m 11 DPO today and so far BFN on tests CB & internet cheapies ..... got FRER coming today as everyone seems to rate these. I feel different have had some symptoms and it seems I’ve turned into the raving lunatic I never thought I would be! Oh dear. AF due tomorrow so I’ll know then as I am usually on time. What a weird process this is eh!

Very weird process! I'm using an APP to track my fertile days, I honestly don't know the actual ovulation date but I finally have some tests now so that I can start testing that this month.

I use an app too. I used ovulation sticks this month too

Yeah I'm doing that this month. We were on honeymoon last month and I was trying to be in the moment

Thank You! I have never had the blood before.....and I have had nothing since. I don't want to get excited just yet as I have been stressed so maybe it's just irregular period

Maybe test again in a few days. Good luck. Also, no reason not to have regular cycles in your late 30s/early 40s.

I showed a faint positive yesterday, started bleeding today but only when I wipe. No clue what this means

Hi coffee, Im 38 and had lots of negative tests in the days leading up to my period. It wasn’t till day after my expected period I got a positive. It was very faint but tested again in a few days and was stronger. I’d say do another test but it’s quite common for you to have a little spotting with either implantation or when your period was due x

Aww that’s a shame. Things do look good though. Unlike what I thought we are not too old. In fact we have everything on our side. We are still fertile and lots of experience and wisdom (my dad says I don’t lol)

Sure you will get your positive soon. I used the opks and tracked my cycle on an app. It definitely helped. Xx
