36 week appointment

Iv my 36 week app next friday at the hospital. Its the first iv been there since my 20week scan. I seen the local mw at 30,34 and due to see her at 38 weeks again. But i dont understand why i have to go to the hospital for this appointment? Can any one enlighten me as to what it could be for/know what it is for?

Not sure.. I had my 36 week appt with midwife last week. Are you seeing a consultant too, maybe that's why. Or maybe because it's around then they go over your birth plan so its a longer appt so they do it there. Not very helpful sorry! But I'm sure all will be fine, as they haven't told you otherwise x x

Don't know - that's not procexure here - maybe call and ask why? Only then will you find out the real reason I guess

Its a strange one. Im not worried as pregnancy has gone pretty smooth and all appointments have went well. There hasnt been anything out of the ordinary. This appointment has been booked since my 12 week scan. I cant imagine theyre going to do anything different than what theyd do if i was to see a local mw.... just find it odd having to go up to the hospital for it. I dont remember doing it with my first. Must be a new thing lol x

My midwife came to my house for me 36 week appointment. She was here for about an hour and a half as we discussed birth plan/breastfeeding, everything really. So, its probably just that it takes longer and they don't want to use clinic time.

Thats odd if your midwife led? Maybee as its been booked since 12 week scan its a routene for your hosp to see all ladies before birth to make sure they are happy with everything, review position etc the lots, birth plan etc. Im hospital led and only have a 37 week one left since my 28 week one
