31 week MW appointment

LO is measuring fine and is in head down position and basically everything is fine, yet I still feel completely under prepared and ill-informed of what is actually going on and what to expect. I got told for the first time by the MW today that women in labour are fasted. I don't think I'd want to eat anyway but I just feel like there's so many other things I'm not being told

Don't panic u have ages to prepare. Don't think woman are fasted, just best not to have a massive dinner during labour! Have u antenatal classes to go to? I'm sure u will be fab and it'll all come together xx

Huh? They arent fasted! Do they do something wierd in Lancs? On our hospital tour she said that lots of women bring in snacks to the labour ward to keep up energy.

I wasnt fasted..in fact i ate like a pig lmao and had numerous lucazade sport drinks although I wont be allowed that this time as Im diabetic

Sure it will all come together hun, dont panic xx

Yeah I was advised to pack snacks in my hospital bag :S

Oh dear I mustnt have listened properly then lol! She just brought it up after I was talking about heartburn and mentioned the really effective tablet they can prescribe beginning with an R?? and she said they use it during labour sometimes? Oh I have absolutely no idea. I think I must have dreamt it.

Anyway, Ive got to start going somewhere else for my appointments now as the health centre I was sent to is being changed to just high risk mothers. I still havent a clue what any of my MWs are called?! and Im not even sure if any of them are even going to be present at the hospital that Im going to or if Im going to then meet another set of MWs?!?!
