Hi everyone,

Well I didn't think I'd ever be joining a pregnancy forum! I have a daughter, whose 14 and from a previous marriage and have been trying for a baby with my current husband, of 8 years for about 4 years. As I will be 40 in a couple of weeks I thought my body clock had given up but I've just discovered I'm pregnant! I think I'm about 6 weeks and its been such a shock lol. I had resigned myself to the fact it would never happen but now I still can't believe it. Dont get me wrong, I'm happy about it but now it's actually happened i keep thinking about all the things going against me. I'm also a bit out of practice at the pregnancy/baby thing, as its a good few years since I experienced it first time around and at my age my memory isn't as good as it used to be and I've forgotten near enough everything that happened.

I joined the forum to make new friends and get lots of tips, it would also be nice to talk to women of the 'more mature' age like myself lol and maybe from ladies who have a large age gap between their children.

sorry for waffling on a bit, good luck in your pregnancy/trying to conceive

Hello and welcome to PF
Congratulations on your long awaited BFP!
I cant be of any help with having a large age gap, there is only 19 months between my two (oldest is 21 months and the youngest 8 weeks) BUT I hope I can be useful in other areas!
The ladies on here are all lovely and i'm sure you will get lots of support.
Good luck x

Thankyou and I'm sure as my pregnancy goes along then ill be asking lots of questions xx

Hi hun,
Just to say hi and congratulations. My daughter is 2 nxt month and i also have a son who turns 15 nxt month!!! It was planned 2nd time around and was just that i didnt initially want another child but then biological clock starting ticking. Im 38 now and just starting ttc again. My son adores my daughter and vice versa and I can honestly say they couldnt be closer..
Yours will be great and ask me anything u think of.

Ps; it doesnt matter if u cant remember much from first time around, so much has changed anyway, may feel like your first again, it did for me, but was lovely..
Luv Sam x
