Hi everyone and Happy New Year,

I am sure I am being overly paranoid, but I am 21 weeks on Wednesday and have not felt the butterflies/bubbles sensation that everyone goes on about. The only thing I have felt is a couple of 'twitches' in my stomach, similar to the sensation of a muscle spasm, or when you get that weird twitching eye. They are so infrequent that I think it could just be my muscles stretching.

Is it worth a visit to the Doctors? I have no other pain or bleeding. My scan is next week (16th) so should I just wait until then?

Dolly xx

No......thats the baby!!!! Thats what it felt like for me a few weeks ago when the bubbles turned into pops........now I just get kicked - not that I'm complaining!!!!

It will gradually get stronger and more obvious - but exactly how you've explained that there - thats how I explained what I was feeling to my DF :cheer:

I never felt anything till I was 22 weeks and even asked people to stop asking me as i was feeling like i was missing something i should know.

sure all is fine

 Sounds like its the baby to me.
I never felt any bubbles, but I remember describing it to people as like those twitches you sometimes get in your eye.
So sounds like its your baby :cheer:

I was 24 weeks until I properly felt movements & it felt like bubbles and only now at 28 weeks can I honestly say I can really feel her kick!!!

These are exactly the sort of movements i have been feeling the last week or so.

You're right they are quite gentle and fairly infrequent.

So don't worry I'm sure we'll be feeling much stronger very soon!

:D

Thank you!!! Someone else describes them as twitches in the eye!! Thats LO saying hello  Also my sis in law never felt hers til nearly 23 weeks

You might have an anterior placenta which means the placenta is at the front of your womb, so any movements by the baby are more cushioned, thats the kind of placenta i have and i didnt feel the baby kicking regulary until 20 odd weeks (got bubbles from 15 weeks) i wouldnt worry about it. :D
