currently my 1yr old has 3 good sized meals, 2 snacks and 2 cows milk bottles per day (7oz first thing and 7oz before bed) in a bottle.

All day he'll have water in a TT cup.

So how and when do i drop to just 1 milk feed (at bedtime) ? Also when do I need to stop bottles/teats and only give him it in a cup/beaker ?

Pretty sure i read that 1yr old he should be ready to drop the AM bottle, is that right? And do i need to try him having bedtime drink in a cup or stick with bedtime bottle a little longer ?

Thoughts ?

Wish I could of figured this out lol my LO is 3 and only has a bottle of milk for bed it's more of her comfort thing which I don't see any harm in.

I'd possibly try and swap his morning bottle for a cup ??
But to be totally honest your LO will let you know if he's ready if you try and drop his AM bottle and he's not happy I wouldn't be too worried he's doing brilliant to be having 3 meals a day :)

I just went with the flow of what my son wanted. He was still having a bottle of milk in the morning and before bed (and sometimes still in the night!) until he was two. He was happy to drink this as well as eat three hearty meals a day with snacks, so obviously not effecting his appetite. Personally I don't see the need in dropping in any bottles if they're eating well as well.

As for actually getting himself to ditch the bottles, that was another matter entirely. I intermittently offered him milk in a variety of cups from his first birthday, but he would never drink it unless it was in a bottle. He would happily drink water and juice out of anything including a normal cup. Recently we stopped the bottles cos he'd chewed through the teats and I wanted him off them before our second baby arrives. We still offered his usual drink of milk in a sippy bottle or cup, but he was never fussed about it and we've got to the point now where I don't offer it.

I wasn't in a rush to get him off bottles though and I'd probably do the same with this one, let them have them until about two.

I've started giving S hers in her beaker in the morning Mel and keeping her night time one in a bottle and fed to her. I also was told to drop bottles by 1 but I don't see the harm if you still feel he needs it x
