:D wondering if many mum's buy their new arrivals a present for christmas. i am stuck whether to get one or leave it?
if i do get a present i would rather get something that will last, or something that she could wear for when she is a teenager.
i would like to know what you would do, as i have some people saying get a present and some saying don't worry.

im not buying much because i cant afford to so all were getting colby is clothes because its what she needs.

Adeles first x-mas i think we all went overboard because she was so prem and we werent sure what the out come would be i guess we were all justgreatfull and wanted to spoil her a little. But to be honest it was a waste of money she preferd the paper and the empty boxes   Alothough my dear friend who passed away due to breastcancer bought hera clock for her room and we still have it in the box kind of a keep sake thing for when shes older and we can explaine to her who bought it ect

good luck

My son was a week old on his first Christmas (this year should be his first!) and he had just a couple of things like a few preemie baby grows and soft toys. We didn't really get him anything as I'd just got out of hospital, but this year we're only getting him a couple of things. He's destroyed 2 Argos books already so I might just get him a new one of them
The idea to get your daughter something to keep till when she is a teenager is a lovely idea :)

Aimee was only about 3 weeks last christmas but i did buy her presents. I bought stuff that would last her all year and for when she was a bit older. Mainly though so it looked like father christmas had been to our eldest.

Were not going over the top, just a few bits... probably clothes. We bought a playnest off the net, so we were going to give it that :D

I never got anything for Rubie last year because I didn't think she would be born. My mum knitted her a toy and wrapped it up, and it was a good job because she came on Christmas day so she got 1 present :)

This year, because it's her 1st birthday too, I've gone a bit mad. We have spent £200.00 on toys and put £200.00 in a savings account. I got everything on special offer too so there's loads!!

ive got to get something for Rachael coz the other three believe in santa and it will look odd if Rachael doesn't get anything.
But i don't think its necessary to get anthing for the first xmas.

Thats how we feel aswell chick. Zack believes in Santa so were going to have to give baby something, otherwise he'll think the only reason baby didnt get anything because its been naughty lol

Katie was only 10 days old last christmas we got her a little stocking and put a few rattles and things in for her but that was about it. Family wanted to buy for her so I asked for vouchers for the Early Learning Centre and we put them towards a swing for the garden in the summer and vouchers for Mothercare so I could buy her clothes in the summer as well.

This year I have gone way over board with toys and I know for a fact she will be more interested in eating the wrapping paper and playing with boxes (more fun for me and daddy!!!!).

This year is Harrisons 1st Christmas and we have bought him a few toys he can use when hes a bit older and we've asked realtives to do the same or buy him a couple outfits

jamie is a spoilt little boy lol, his grandparents hav spent so much on him already with his arrival and theyre still buyin loads for xmas lol!

iv done about 2record books and a big photo album of him so far so when hes bigger he can look thru - i never had any of that so i definitely want jamie to!

my son was a day old on xmas day, so i didnt have time to buy him nothing, my girls were 2 and 4 weeks on there first xmas so i brought them a few things

We are buying loads of stuff but it's all things Arianna needs....

Naomi will be a year old on January 6th. We decided that we'll get her a small present (she has so much already and lots of doting aunties and uncles) and buy her something small for her birthday too.

OH thinks I'm crazy as she won't remember but hey! She's my one and only so far and I've waited all my life to do the things that I used to help Mom to do on Christmas eve. (Oldest child here *L*)

Happy Christmas to all our little treasures. That the magic never fades, and the faith stays alive!

*sentimental*

U can get something bubs can cherish when their older, like a little charm for a necklace or bracelet, or even a lil figurine. It doesnt have to be much. Or even a stocking saying ''babys first xmas'' or personalised with a name so it can be kept. :) I got Jaycee a personalised stocking from ebay and a first xmas bauble for our tree with a photo of her on it (also ebay) It was great! :D

Yeah last year I got Brody a few toys and also wrapped up stuff we had anyway...like a lamp for his room and clothes and stuff...so Mason got to open them and wasn't confused.

This year Brody will be getting quite a bit...again mainly because we have to try and make it look even with Mason.
