1st Midwife Appointment - How long did you have to wait?

Hi everyone

I'm currently 6 1/2 weeks pregnant and i have just had a call from my doc surgery.
They have moved my 1st midwife appointment from 13th December to 3rd January 2008 as she is on hols.

That means i will be 12 weeks at my first appointment.
Has anyone else waited this long?

Also what should i expect at this appointment? Will i have my first scan?
I know everyone will worry in the first few weeks but i just want some reassurance that everything is ok.

At your first appointment the MW should just go through a lot of paperwork with you, check your height and weight and give you lots of leaflets and information. She may feel your tummy, especially as you're going to be 12 weeks by then. She should also book you for a scan immediately as you;re due one at 12 weeks.

Thats a shame that you have to wait At least things will really get moving when you do meet the MW.

My 1st appt was very quick, as soon as i found out. MW wanted the booking appt done. but now i have to wait to late Jan (will be 15wks then) for my next appt. So even if you get an early appt, it can be really quite uneventful

My first MW appointment is on the 4th December and I will be approx 11 weeks 3 days then my scan is booked for the following week on the 12th December where I will be 12 weeks and 4 days. I think each area varies in terms of when your first appointments are but you will definately be due your first scan by then!!

i only had my 1st m/w appointment on saturday and i was 12 weeks then

I had 1st appt with DS at 8 weeks, this time it will be 12 weeks

I went to docs to get pregnancy confirmed, my midwife wont see anyone until they are ten weeks, so they made me an appointment for 10 weeks (jan 3rd) and a scan appointment for 12 weeks mid jan

and every due date calculator i have used has given me 31st july as my due date, but on my docs chart he said 3rd august, strange!

My 1st midwife appointment was when I was 16+5 - so places vary

I had already had my 12 weeks scan at 13+3 but that was due to the fact I was admitted to hospital

I had mine yesterday, I see her again next week, then I wont see her until 16 weeks
