Hi,
I had my first son at 36 weeks and was wondering if anybody else had any experience on 2nd babies. I know they are all different but as i am just about to be 33 weeks i am starting to wonder if this one will come eary as well. I was given no reason for early delivery and thankfully my son was fine and was 5lb 3 1/2.
Would love to if anybody else has experience of this?
Thanks

i had my daughter at 33wk... she weighed 4lb 10oz and i was very lucky, she was very healthy and was able to breathe on her own and only had to stay in hospital till she could control her tempreture, gain weight and able to fed well! i was put under the consultant this pregnancy and after going through my previous pregnancy note.. he cant see any readon why i went into labour early.. so have given me a 1 in 10 chance of going early again(which i think is ok).. obviously im still waiting to see if i have a premature baby again.. just wanted to wish you luck on going full term or as close to it as possible :) xx

My mum went into labor with me at 11 weeks prem they managed to hold the labor off till she was 8 weeks prem. She was told not to have any more children as they could not find a reason for the early labor well she went on to have my little brother who was over 2 weeks LATE. I think pre term labor sometimes just happens and if there is no reason for it then i dont think there is a indication that the next baby will be early

mine wasn;t first pregnancy but 3rd child my waters broke at 22 weeks and i went into labour at 33 weeks and had him then and was lucky he only spent a week in SCBU. it was 1st baby to my husband so they thouht that had something to do with it, but i have had 2 since him and went to full term, so must have just been one of those things.

Thank you all for your experience, I suppose i have in the back of my mind that this baby may come early but am doing the count down for 40 weeks (hopefully not 42). Hope you all manage to go full term or 37/38 weeks.
Many thanks

I had my DD at 27+4, for no reason. I'm now 35+4 , something which I never thought would happen! If you didnt have a reason for your sons early arrival, you have every chance to go term or more this time! From a scan we know that LO is measuring big and my cervix...well, it looks like baby doesnt want to come any time soon  and thats fine with me! xxxxx
