19 days late need advice

Hi,
This is my first post as need some advice. I have now done three home pregnancy tests which have come back negative. I have never missed a period in my life and I can usually set my watch by it. I have had major surgery and depression and anxiety in the past and have still never missed or been more than one day late.
I went to gp to try and get a blood test done but just got told to come back in 6-8 weeks if nothing had changed and if I don't have one in the next 6 months then they may then investigate! I'm 32 usually healthy have had a bout of bronchitis.
However if have sore boobs, headache stomach and back cramps, bras are too small now, constantly tired and now think I have thrush ( think as I've never had it before)
I am 9 days away from when my next period is due. Think im going mad and was so frustrated that my dr wouldn't listen and just kept going on these things just happen for no reason. I would be fine with that if I didn't have pms/ pregnancy symptoms. My mum with both me and my brother never got a positive urine tests it was only picked up in bloods and my gran died at 42 from womb cancer so you would of thought my dr would of taken my history into account.

it sounds like you need to push your doctor a bit more. Could you see a different doctor? I wonder if there's anyone at your local hospital who could do something?

Sorry to hear you're going through this. I went to see my GP yesterday for the same reason. I'm currently on cd40, when my last 2 cycles have been 27 and 25 days. I've had what I thought were really strong pregnancy symptoms and been testing negative on HPTs. I fully expected the GP to do a blood test to see what was going on, but she told me something very similar to what you were told. This is what I put on another thread yesterday...

Had thought she might do blood test but instead told me she thinks it's just hormones playing up and I just need to wait for AF. Suggested I test again in 2 weeks if still no sign of af arriving. I don't know if you're having any preg symptoms but what she told me is that sometimes women are so fixated on ttc and pick up on every little thing going on with their bodies, interpreting it as a symptom of preg. Apparently the mind can also cause hormones to produce phantom symptoms. I guess an anticipation of pregnancy could cause the body to produce symptoms mimicing preg.

I was really upset yesterday and felt I must be going mad (and quite pissed off with the GP!) - I've been hoping I'm just one of those ladies who don't show up positive on HPTs - but today feel more philosophical about the whole thing. My GP did say HPTs are very good these days and if you test negative on them, you're unlikely to be pregnant. I also think if GPs start doing other tests, when they just think you're having a wonky cycle, they are perhaps feeding in to our anxiety and expectation, if that makes sense. Stress can completely mess up the cycle and I think (speaking personally) when you're ttc, every symptoms gets over-analysed, 'cause we want to be pregnant so badly! I now think perhaps I ov'd late and AF does feel like it might be on its way at long last. Please God!

I do appreciate you've got family history which is relevant, but based on what my GP said, it's likely it's just a one-off odd cycle. There is always an outside chance obviously that you ov'd late and you are pregnant. Perhaps give it a couple more weeks to see if AF appears or you get a bfp and then go and speak to another GP at your practice to see what they say. Then at least you've given it a bit more time. I hope you get resolution one way or the other, 'cause being in limbo is rubbish! x

Thanks guys, glad to hear I'm not the only one.

Was livid with gp only bonus is it have moved house a few months ago and not got round to moving doctors, this has spurred me on.

Will wait to see if next period comes and go from there. My partner and I aren't trying for a baby so would be a bit of a happy surprise if we were as we want children in the near future. Which is what's making this situation worse for me as I'm more worried it's an indication I may not be able to have children than being pregnant. The first day I missed my period it was a panic stations as I'm so clock work normally and was very scared that I was and now as the weeks have gone on and we use dr Google you scare the life out of your self with all the other stuff it may or may not be. I know I keep being told not to worry as that may be contributing but it's a vicious circle.
I will post back with an update, when I know something!

if I was you I would make another appointment with your gp, even if you have to exaggerate things to get them to listen. If your not pregnant you need to find out why your not getting your monthlys.
I wouldn't search it on the internet either, according to google I've had a heart attack, kidney stones, a brain tumour, cervical and ovarian cancer as well as lung cancer but really I was suffering from anxiety x

Well still a no show and now three days late for when my second period should start.
Still feeling exhausted and needing a nap when I get in from work stomach and back cramps headaches. Boobs have gotten bigger and heavier to the point is need to get new bras! They are also some painful especially at the sides they feel really heavy too. Sunday eve they woke me up with what I can only explain as a strange fizzing sensation. They have also woke me up when I turn over. Now unable to lie on my front as hurts my chest and stomach. Still getting a negative home tests. To take one again at the weekend and then Monday calling gp to get an appointment and demand they do bloods as I am not right.
Will post again when I know more.

Have u got blood test done yet? Certainly sounds like you're pregnant and your one of these people who don't show positive on a home preg test x
