Caitlyn has had NO milk since we stopped breastfeeding at 14 months. She has it in cereal but that's it. I never worried at all, but people keep going on and on and on and now I'm starting to feel bad even though she's happy and healthy and I have tried numerous times to get her to have milk. We've even tried milk shakes, smoothies, tea, even hot chocolate. Nothing!

I suppose I want someone to tell me she'll be fine and it's silly to listen to other people. Oh and that mummy knows best!

You can't force her to drink it if she doesn't want to... does she have lots of yogurt, cheese etc though? Sam won't drink cows milk so he has Aptamil growing up milk, which actually tastes quite nice

I've tried all the toddler milks, I even tried the baby ones. She just knows I want her to drink it

She has loads of calcium in other ways, I just worry she's missing out on some things?

All that ^^^^^

I'd just overload on cheese yogurts and stuff and she is having some so I definitely wouldn't worry at this age, if she was 5/6 months I'd worry but not at Caitlyn's age :D

Gooooood! I stayed with my Nan last week and she filled my head with "she'll have brittle bones" blah blah...

My Mil (whom I dont speak to  ) said this :

Katie was diagnosed last year with kidney reflux, its something she was born with ok still with me? It causes her to have infections which can show as calcium deposits in her urine

Mil said it was because ' she drank too much milk' Obviously by the end of our 'conversation' I'd put her straight  :trouble:

Rhys hasnt had milk since 8 months  and hes fine!

i should add that that was because hes allergic to milk and has refused to drink non dairy milk :dohh: but he does eat other things with calcium in

Well she was so used to boobie milk, she just won't get used to the taste of other milk :(

Heebs isnt a big milk drinker. I manage to get about 8/9 oz of regular full fat down her before bed but that's it. She's a cheese monster and likes her yoghurts etc so I'm not to concerned - I'd like her to drink more but you cant force it on them can you :)

as long as she's getting plenty of calcium from cheese and yoghurts and stuff it's fine!! it's costing me a bleedin fortune in milk, katie drinks 16+ oz a day still! and she'd happily drink that in one sitting if i let her, but any more than 9oz and she sicks it up!!

i thought the same with Rosie, she wasn't getting enough, but now with her waking at night, she's fine.
But did speak to hv who said that as long as they are having calcium in other sources it is ok

at the end of the day tor you can't force it down her hon, like you no, as long as she's having it in other forms, yoghurt, cheese etc, i'm sure she will be fine! i just give lots of calcium rich alternatives, or even cook with it, like a white sauce with cheese :)
maddi is an utter milk monster, and would drink it all day if i'd let her

Dont ever let anyone tell you how to raise your baby girl , you made her you know her best .. look even is she has no milk its ok as long as something can replace that .. like yogurt, cheese those kinda things then your fine .. I went through life without milk as I hated it and still do ..but my bones are just fine and dandy xox
