12 weeks 4 days and so frightened

Hi everyone, I joined this forum just because I am so frightened I have had a missed miscarriage. I have no bleeding or pain just this awful feeling something will be wrong when I go for my scan on Monday. I did this a few weeks back and went for a private scan and all was fine, baby had a strong heart beat. I don't know why I feel like this I'm normally a rational person. Please tell me I'm not going mad, I can't sleep with the anxiety.

Hi poppy,

Not irrational at all. I had 3 scans prior to my dating scan and still never slept a wink thinking they'd tell me something was wrong with my baby. I think most of us go through these emotions, some of us it's just a lot more heightened!

Try to be positive and look forward to seeing your baby. Hopefully come Monday you can breathe a big sigh of relief xx

I was the same when I had my little one 9 years ago, I think it's natural and some people will just feel it more than others. Just look forward to Monday. x

You definitely aren't hun. I was the same with my first too but this time round I was an utter mess. I cried every time I had awful cramps and checked my pants hourly - it was crazy. I'm 14 weeks now and everything is going well, I'm sure you'll be the same there's a thread for mummies due in January, you should go join the ladies as everyone is lovely and supportive xx

I'm with you! I'm 8w2d and have just booked a scan for next Wednesday... I hate the not knowing x

Poppy, I'm completely with you. I'm 11+6 and have my first scan on the day after tomorrow.
Totally paranoid and worried, what can we do to take our minds off it??

Hi Poppy,

I am exactly the same! Just had my first midwife appointment, they put me at 9weeks and 3 days and I'm just beyond anxious with what seems to be the forever wait until my first scan.

I would say, you've had no bleeding, try not to worry! Everything sounds perfectly normal and really it's likely your baby is absolutely fine! Try and take your mind off it if you can - I'm trying not to think about it and to look forward to the scan.

We're such worriers!

Same here ladies im waiting for 12 week scan date letter to arrive any day now. Im usually laid back and positive but cant help but worry! Also holding on to the fact ive no spotting at all.xx
