12 Week Scan - Thoughts?

So had my 12 week scan today. Baby was really wriggling about so didn't really see many good photo opportunities but was amazing anyway did anyone else's 12 week scan photo turn out like this? I just think it looks a little strange and not like others I've seen on here before. Also the sonographer didn't even look at the heartbeat or tell me what anything was she just kept zooming over my tummy and I just saw the baby wriggling all over the place haha. What do you guys think? X

I also wanted to ask... My LMP was 9th June and I'm really confused as I should be about 12 weeks 1 day but baby measured at 12 weeks 6 days and she gave me an earlier due date of about a week. Should I go with the scan date?

your 12 week scan is a dating scan - which is worked out on crown to rump measurements.....so if your lo was wriggling about all over then the measurement may not be 100% accurate. your due date is only a rough guide anyway.....they will go into more detail explaining what everything is and look at the heart and other organs in depth at your 20 week scan congrats

Thanks So should I change all my apps to that new due date like on my phone etc? So it's all easier for me to track. What do you think about the scan photos?x

scan photos are that of an active baby but all good. See what your midwife says at your next appointment - sometimes they leave the due date by your lmp and depending how much the scan differs they may change it to the scan date...... babies have growth spurts so your lo could have just grown a lot and will now slow up again.....

I've seen several scan photos like this just an active bubba so it would seem.

Also, how many days between your period is it usually (your cycle length) if it's less than the typical 28 days, it would explain why bubs is measuring bigger than you thought. The online calculators base how far you are along by an automatic 28 day cycle (unless they specifically ask for cycle length).

With my first, I was dated 2 days infront but they told me they wouldn't change my due date as it was only a couple of days however, baby came naturally 2 days before his due date (whether that was a coincidence or not, I don't know).

If they were happy to move your due date, then I'd go with 12w+6 from now on as that's what those scans are for I guess xx

Gorgeous scan hun!

honestly dw about the dating so much.
With my little boy i gave myself an EDD of 6th July. I had dating scan and was out to 1st July. He arrived 11th July lol! Its very rare that ull be ridiculous amount of weeks out of ur original EDD. It all goes by measurements.
He was measuring almost a week bigger again at 20wk scan which would of meant a June due date!

Just so happens hes a long baba! Which i can see as im 6ft and so is his Dad lol! xx
