12 week scan - bladder

Hi anyone have advice on how much to drink when before a 12 week scan??
I never really got a official letter thru for scan so never got writen instructions.

Hi @soffphie! I hope your pregnancy is going well. My letter said 1.5 pints of water, 1 hour before, but I found that to be too much as there was a bit of waiting around too. I get asked to empty my bladder 'a bit' every time (almost impossible!) so tend to stick to a 500ml bottle about 45 mins before. Good luck!

I had a pint of water about an hour before the scan. Worked great for the 12 week scan x

I always try to drink about 750ml and hour before and then finish another 500ml bottle on the way. Apparently my bladder wasnt full enough in our 12 weeks scan but didn't have any trouble either seeing so not sure why she bothered saying. This has worked kn all other scans for me. Is very uncomfortable tho xx

pretty sure it says to empty bladder 1 hour before appt then drink half a pint of water

Mine just said to not go to the toilet 2 hours before. I then sipped water around 30 mins up to the appointment. They always keep you waiting and I was desperate for the loo too! Both of my scans I was asked to half empty my bladder so they could get the baby to move haha
