I had read that baby was supposed to slow down its movements now that it is getting a lot bigger but midwife said yesterday if i dont feel 10 a day to contact the mat unit. i got a bit worried that perhaps i hadnt felt 10 a day. am going to start charting it from now on but has anyoen else noticed that babys moveents werent as frequent once they hit 31-32 weeks? i can feel it squirming and trying to turn but not so many kicks. i then got paranoid as i had to run for the bus last week and felt guilty, worried that id done something to hurt baby. what do you think?

some days the baby has lazy days Alfie would go for days without a single movement and i would poke and prod him and nothing i was actually petrified when one time he did this for 4 days not a single movement and i got checked over and as soon as they put the movement monitor on me he went beserk then hed have days where he was constantly moveing i think babies just get nakered hun try not to worry but if you are worried defineately go to hospital get it checked out

The squirms and kicks count as movements too! I get about one hefty kick a week, but baby is constantly squirming. I have been more concerned that movements haven't slowed down at all!

I found near the end I would just get wriggles and pokes not defined 'big' movements as such.

If you are ever in any doubt just call the labour ward, they will be pleased you are being cautious.

Mines really slowed down now to hardly nothing. He seems to wake up for about 10 minutes, go mad then go back to sleep for hours.

on christmas day i had exactly the same worries as you. i hadn't felt any major movements for a couple of days so i went in to be monitored and all was ok. they do say all little movements count as well but like jaidy says if you are ever worried ring your midwife, i agonised for a couple of days and when i was on the moniotr my mind was immediately put at rest.

i was 31 weeks at this time too. now i'm nearly 34 and yesterday he did not stop it was great but some days he is more active than others.

thanks very much everyone. MW said yesterday that babys bum is digging into my ribs at the top so maybe his big bum is slowing him or her down! haha
Laura and bump x
