Antenatal classes cover breathing/relaxtion in labour?

Thanks for the advice. I know I'm not going to be very good with labour pain (if my agonising monthly's are anything to go by) and if I've got something like breathing to focus on it will help. So many people have said it's well worth practising relaxtion/breathing techniques but like you say I...

Antenatal classes cover breathing/relaxtion in labour?

Just wondering whether breathing and relaxation techniques in labour were covered in your Parentcraft/antenatal classes? I keep reading about this as being a standard part of the parentcraft course but I've just finished my course and we didn't cover it at all. I looked into doing some antenatal...

Help! Which car seat is suitable for 2002 Ford Focus??

Thanks for all the advice - we'd been told that no Graco seats would fit our car! It's so confusing when the so-called trained experts are telling you no car seat will fit but not telling you where to go next! I did find it astounding that we'd have trouble finding a seat on a Focus as the car...

Help! Which car seat is suitable for 2002 Ford Focus??

I hope someone can help! My partner and I have been searching for a Car seat that fits our 3 door, 2002 Ford Focus but none have so far. We don't have Isofix and the Easy-bases don't fit either and none of the places we asked had a clue. We tried Babys R us, Mothercare and Halfords but no good...

Don't want to panic but Baby has gone a bit quiet today...

Oh, thank you for all your reassurances - he moved a bit last night, not a great deal but enough to make me feel better. I will definitely try the torch idea. I hadn't thought of that. I was tempted to try and drink some Fanta (last time he was very active and got hiccups!) but I thought the...

Thank you for your kind words - I don't really have anyone to ask so is wonderful to hear other mum's advice on this. XX

Don't want to panic but Baby has gone a bit quiet today...

Yeah, he did have a pattern of activity, just after eating and as soon as I'd lie down on my left side - I was actually getting a bit sore with his elbows scraping and poking in there but I never minded of course. I will keep an eye on him and call the MW if it carries on tonight. Thanks so much...

Don't want to panic but Baby has gone a bit quiet today...

I'm 33 weeks - he kicked maybe once this morning but it is like he's really sleepy or something. I have tried drinking cold water and he moved once soon after but now he's been quiet for a few hours - it's very strange the way he's so sluggish.

Don't want to panic but Baby has gone a bit quiet today...

Hoping you can advise me...I fell on the ice last monday and went to A&E to get checked out. Monitoring showed everything was fine although they said the baby was a bit sleepy (glad he managed to sleep through mummy's ordeal!) so they asked me to drink cold water to wake him up which he did! I...

Do you have any advice for sleeping sitting up? I've got Symphisis Pubis Dysfunction and this is the reccomended way for me to sleep comfortably. I've got a pillow mountain to rearrange at the moment and it's making me crazy! Is there a better pillow you can buy? Am using the dream genii pillow...

    OH MY god.............

I too am banned from watching birth videos! I saw two, one water birth and one hospital bed birth - the water birth looked awful, the poor mum looked so tired and the hospital one was better and quicker. Either way I think, as said earlier everyone's different. I am still having panic moments...

    Aches and pains

Have been having something similar Solgirl, aching down my left hip and down the left thigh. I think it's because of the new sleeping postition (on the left as reccomended) I'm forcing myself to get used to. I've got the dream genii pillow that really helped at first but now it's becoming...

Parent craft classes, moving, Xmas - Help, am so stressed!

Thank you both so much - I guess registering at the local doctors is the first step. I will have to research the local hospitals but QE2 Welwyn sounds good. Haven't been feeling that good about Enfield Chase anyway - at each scan the sonographers have not been sympathetic (ie. had strong pains...

Parent craft classes, moving, Xmas - Help, am so stressed!

I'm moving house in two weeks (just found out) as our house has bad mould, work is getting me down and am worried about inhaling mould spores whilst pregnant. Can't even think about Christmas as the thought of moving is stressing me out. Am 23 weeks and haven't signed up to parent craft classes...
