Your least favourite names

Writing that you don't mean offence isn't a licence to post what you want.

I know you didn't start the thread, I just think it's a bit pointless that's all. And I would hope Stanley won't have any problems at school unless he meets children whose mothers are ignorant and obnoxious about name choices. They only learn what we and society teach them.

I'm not going to delete this thread unless I am asked to, but I would suggest to you all that a thread like this isn't really a good idea, as it was only really a matter of time before someone's child's name got picked out.

By the way, I find the comments about "Stanley" quite offensive, was it not enough to say that you just didn't like the name? Why is there a need to say that someone called Stanley would hate his parents? That's just downright rude and cruel.

Think before you type people!

on what site? i cant see a link?

i just think its going to far and will hurt peoples feelings i no it would hurt mine if them comments were said about my child

Oh sorry, I was thinking it was another thread I did. The names forum that someone posted in another thread is for comments on what people think of names, didn't see anyone offended there so I guess if people are then they shouldn't read the thread. It does say what it's about in the title.

I'm sorry but that is a rubbish reason to think the comments about stanley are acceptable here, they are NOT. How will people know there are personal comments about their childs name?

No offensive comments are allowed here, whether it's in the threads title or not.

Sorry for joining in with the thread, i have deleted the names i put, i just thought it was a bit of fun and i was actually getting some ideas for names!!
I am one of those that gets slagged off all the time as i called my daughter Jamie, i don't care unless they would say it to her, people can think what they like. Personally i have never looked on here and thought "oh my god why call your child that" I think there are some lovely unusual names which just means your child is so special to you.
Again, i apologise and hope no offence was taken.

Sorry for starting this thread, I just thought that most people had a sense of humour.

Why can't you just let this lie? I have said the comments could offend someone, and someone has said "yes I'm offended." Humour has nothing to do with it.

Tell a joke if you want to make people laugh, don't slag their personal choices off and and then try to imply they only got offended cos they don't have a sense of humor. It's juvenile.

i dont like danielle, only because my ex left me for a danielle.

i think this is abit of fun. but some comments did get out of hand.

erm cant think of any more.

Some names have alot of significance to people. it's such a personal thing because they hold different meanings for everyone.

If we have a boy next time we are considering Stanley for his middle name after my DH's grandfather who died when he was about 9. He was a lovely man from what I've heard and hopefully if I do, my son will be happy to bear his name.

My middle name is Ellen after my grandma and I love it. My DD's name is Evangeline which I know loads of people will hate but means 'like an angel' and she is named after my great grandfather (Evangelis).

Everyone knows you weren't trying to hurt people girls, it's just that sometimes we all have to be sensitive to other people's feelings :) there are names I don't like but I would never post them cos it's a personal thing.

xx

i love all names :) i think it helps build a person (know what i mean?)
