when can a baby have yoghurt and which ones are they allowed?

Phoebe has Fromage Frais yoghurts. I think they can have them from 4mths (read it on the side of one of the yoghurt pots) but your HV would prob say 6mths!! Blah Blah Blah!!!!!!!!!!!

Phoebe loves them

HV would say 6months but i gave them Dior from 4 months, i got the lil cheap tesco own make ones, there lovely

Yeah I think that is Fromage Frais!!

The tiny pots? You can get Wild Life ones and Cartoon ones etc.

Just watch the sugar content in the Petit Filous. I may be wrong, but I'm sure I read somewhere recently that they were filled to the brim with sugar. :?

I have been told that too.

oh great i have bought these for rubie

i think its 6 months their not meant to have dairy products until then and then you can give them any yoghurt apart from low fat ones

Just check the labels hun, anything that ends in ose is a sugar so it could be glucose, fructose (I think it might be that as they tend to contain fruit juices). One in a while shouldn't cause any probs as long as if Rubie has any teeth you clean them etc.

Me too, but I would like to add.....
Both my other children ate Petit Filous and at age 12 & 10, dn't have one single filling... just beautiful teeth. We do take super good care of teeth in this house though!!

I have decided to give Oscar plain Goat's milk yoghurt with my own stewed fruit.... a bit of effort, but best for him. I will be avoiding cow's products, as it's not kind on their/our tummy's. Goat is best. :D

Why not use plain yoghurt with stewed berries, etc? No sugar needed!

My HV advised me to give Aimee yogurt and fromage frias from 4 months cos she doesn't like drinking milk so to get some calcium in her!

I've been doing this for the past few days with Yeo's Organic plain yog as you can get it in little pots rather than the huge ones. I stewed some dried apricots and pureed them etc and have them in the freezer. Since I also have some frozen mango, peach and pear I thought I could change the flavour every day! He loves it!

Wow thanks for the tip Emilia and Rosebay. I have been wanting to give Seren stuff like this but was unsure about the fromage frais. Will gibve it a whirl in a couple of weeks :D

Greek yoghurt is fine too... has a nice creaminess to it. Remember... full fat yoggie for under two's, then you can use low fat after 2 years.
