just back from seeing my midwife and shes told me that because im having such a good pregnancy and baby is head down that im able to use the nice birthing unit at ninewells hospital! ive read some stuff about it and one woman said this:

'I gave birth there in March! It's like a hotel for labour, the rooms are fab, g&a all hidden behind the walls so you just see the tubes, big sort of foam B shaped bed, birth balls, bean bags, ensuite bathrooms with large corner baths.

I started in one of the normal birthing romos as both birth pools were in use when I first went in, I used the ensuite bath during that time, then I moved to the birthing pool about 6.30pm and had my little man at 10.30pm.

Beverley was the first one I seen, lovely and encouraging in a hippy "you're so amazing, you're doing so great" sort of way, then was passed over to another 2 who were quiet happy to let me suck on G&A, then finally Joyce who delivered bubs, she was so great!!
I read through the book and was greetin when I put my own entry in, bloody hormones!! I couldn't fault the care we had! Avril the NA was great, so lovely and great to chat to esp when I ended up being the only one there on the 2nd night, and Myra the head MW was also so nice and helpful with some of her advice. Even the receptionist was lovely!!

They also have their own little kitchen and were happy to let OH go through and get some coffee whilst I was in labour to give him 5min to gather himself. And the next morning I got loads of choice from their wee breakfast cart, cereal, rolls, toast and lots of tea.

Fab - the staff really are a credit to the unit x'

i am SO EXCITED!!!! :)

wow that sounds fab... wish mine was like that x

thanks guys!!! lets just hope everything goes smoothly. if anything starts to go wrong im literally just round a corner and into the labour unit where c-sections can be done n stuff. but im praying for a natural birth! xx
