Was talking to someone at baby group today about her sisters bfing experience with her newborn.

She was told (by drs!) because she could only pump 10mls an hour she had no milk and because baby was cluster feeding she had no milk. Baby was putting weight on!!! She was told that formula was better for baby and to just put baby on it and they refused to give her further bf support!

How can people in the medical profession treat people like that? Why are woman not getting the correct support?

That's shocking!! NHS MW'v in Wales are all about promoting BFing and frown more on people who choose Formula from start!...

WHAT A SHOCKER!!

Horrible! I was told by many health care professionals including a lactation consultant that my milk supply was low because my baby was losing weight and falling asleep at the breast. It was just that my milk hadn't come in and she had no energy. Instead of telling me to pump etc, I was told to give formula. Next time I will know!

The amount of people eventually there to help me BF, was amazing, I still get a phone call every month to see how I'm doing even though I haven't had any problems since the first few weeks. It's a shame more trusts aren't so supportive.

That's shocking! We get lots of support up here too.

I didn't even have a bf support person to contact at all. There was a class once a week which I couldn't get to as Cam was difficult to deal with at first. No one I could call for support etc, very alone :(
