I don't know if this is anything to be worrying about but i have some discomfort in my lower abdomen. ive had it all day and it feels like period pain but its not pain as such if that makes sense. im starting to feel sharper pains but their dull pains. Sorry if this doesn't make sense, not really sure how to describe it, im probably worrying about nothing as we only had our scan on monday and everything is fine, trying not to think about it too much but i suppose i just wanted a bit of reassurance. could it be due to my womb expanding to make room for my baby? thankyou to anyone who replies

Hi!

I would say that this is DEFINATELY your womb expanding. With my second pregnancy I felt like I was going to have AF on and off for about 3 months! With this pregnancy I occasionally have the AF feeling along with pulling pains from both sides of my womb.

If I stand up too quickly I sometimes feel a sharp pain also. If you think about the size your womb expands over nine months, there is bound to be stretching pains as it grows.

I had a miscarriage with my first pregnancy and the pain was the type to bring you to the floor!! I also had loads of bright red blood almost immediately.

I promise you - it is just womb-growing pains!!

RELAX!! (easier said than done - I am tense with this pregnancy and cannot wait for 12 week scan)

Ditto, I had period like cramps at the beginning when I think I was first stretching, and then a noticeable bout of them again, not quite the same sensation but similar at about 12 weeks.

I've had an achey tummy for over a week now. Still have. I was really worried because i'd had some occasional brown spotting as well but that's stopped now.
Fingers crossed everythings ok. I see the Doctor in the morning. Having read some of the posts on here and listened to the advice from these lovely ladies, i'm thinking it's pretty normal. (touch wood).

Before being pregnant I looked forward to 9 months without period pain. :wall: :wall: :wall:
It's normal to feel period like pains. Don't worry

I had AF pains until I hit 7 weeks and now I just get loads of sharp and dull pains all over my tummy

Saw the Doctor today and she said she thought everything should be fine. She felt my tummy and said I should only be concerned if it turned into really intense pain, especially on one side. She's sending me for an early scan next week just to make sure but she seemed pretty happy about everything. Looking forward to the scan... :D
Don't think it's all sunk in yet, only did the test on Saturday.

Lauran,

Hope you are feeling a bit more reassured now! Would be nice to go through this wonderful yet worrying time together - so please stay in touch!!!

Julia
