I'm worried I'm going to have a 10lb baby and will need to push him out, everyones telling me I look big, how do I get mw to check size?I don't want to push a 10lb baby, one of my cousins did n it ripped her apart down below, so badly she doesn't even know when she needs the toilet... I'm so scared, do u reckon I speak to the mw about my concern?xx

I agree, can't do any harm telling your mw your worried. I'm getting worried about babies size now too. I'm overdue and huge, but I don't think anyone can give an accurate guess of how big baby will be just by feeling your tummy......eeek!

Aww honey, just because people say you look big it doesn't mean anyone. I carry really small, people didn't believe how far on I was last time because I looked small, but my baby was born almost bang on his due date and weighed 8lbs 6oz. Everyone's different and carry differently. Also when it comes to it your main concern will be getting the baby out safe, and the bigger the healthier so thats good, you won't be worried about you and with good midwife care these days they shouldn't let you rip too badly, they are there to assist you if needs be. But with anything thats troubling you its a good idea to mention it to you MW for reassurance xx

people are constantly telling me how big i look. but whenever the midwife measures my bump i am always measuring spot on for the number of weeks i am. the last appointment they said it wasnt a massive baby but a good size. try not to worry too much but speak to your midwife x

I don't think you can compare the size of your bump to how big the baby will be. Ask your midwife if you want peace of mind though. xx

If it helps ease your mind ask hun , my mum was masive with my sister , everyone told her she must be having a 12 pound baby , she was 5lb 4 oz . So it goes to show you how wrong peoples assumptions can be x

I am quite large it seems; am dreading the birth and keep hoping I will come earlier; but not to early x

I agree people always say 'OMG its massive!' but bubbas only measuring abt 4.5lbs at the min according to my last growth scan so shes not massive at all.
If you really want a scan u could tell mw that ur movement patterns have changed & they will give u one then & itll say what they estimate babys weight to be its a bit sneaky but if ur desperate...x

My growth scan put my baby's weight at 8lb 5oz a week and a half ago, but my fundal height measurements have always been normal. My consultant said that my baby is likely to be over 10lb but that you can only tell this by a scan and not by the bump size. It depends how you carry and how baby weighs. I wouldn't worry too much. Plus, 10lb babies aren't THAT uncommon and plenty deliver them with no problems.

xx
