Been reading a lot of messages on the forum...

But I'm worried for my baby and need some advice? support? I'm not really sure...

My History is that this is my 2nd baby (my first being a boy who was 3 weeks early, and he's now 3)

I've had 2 membrane sweeps so far due to go for another tomorrow.

Last Thursday I thought I was going into labour and was got told to go to my local birthing centre, but it seems to fizzle out, and got sent home.

The baby seems to be moving a bit still (Its always did seems lazy) but ALL my contractions seems to have stopped, I've not had a contraction since Thursday when they sent me home.

What can I do, I've tried all the advice I've been reading (Speed humps, currys, pineapple, walking, stairs, even the S word (wasn't in the mood to be honest :) ) Only thing left is the trampoline for my son)

Its that lack of contractions and the time thats really worrying me.

I haven't told my husband but I'm worried.... To be honest I know he's also worried and would do anything I wanted I just can't tell him quite how worried I am. I would call my midwife but she's on holiday for 3 weeks and the local hospital doesn't seem to be interested unless I feel its an emergency. I'm not in pain (other than the normal pains), and on Thursday babys heartbeat was fine.

Thanks

I'm sorry you are 9 days over - it must be incredibly frustrating! Please do not worry too much - my Birthing Centre will allow me to go to 42 weeks before inducing me, so it mustn't be a problem letting you go over. They have, however, stressed the importance of feeling for baby's movements. I've now been told to feel for movements within 8 hours rather than 12 or whatever it was. I'm only 39 weeks and I also feel anxious about going over due, especially as my baby is apparently massive (head was measuring at 40+6 at my 38 week growth scan  )
I know it's difficult, but try to relax, and please don't feel silly about going to hospital for lack of movement - you know your body better than anyone else!

Good luck and fingers crossed bubs will be here very soon! xxx

I was 10 days overdue and didn't have any niggles/pains/contractions until the day so don't worry. Being overdue causes no harm to the baby. They like it in there far too much. xx

Thanks for support. I'm feeling a bit better thanks to you.

Spoke to a midwife at 8am. She's also helped me feel a bit better in myself.

Good news is that I've also spoken to my husband. He's taken the day off today and tomorrow (I think he's taking the week off just in case but hasn't told me).

Hopefully this one won't go on much longer. I've really had enough. My son being early doesn't help. :)

I hope things move quickly for you i cant imagine being overdue! Good luck!!

Hi there, I am two weeks over; and can relate to your concerns I have had contraction like pains and then they have stopped. I am being induced on Wednesday, much to my disappointment... I wouldn't worry to much. You could always see your doctor just to talk with them and ask that they check babies heartbeat, express concern and I am sure they will give you the time... xx

I was told that sweeps were most effective at 10days over and that's what happened to me! Not a sausage, then at 40 + 10 (with my 2nd) I had a sweep and she arrived that night xx

Good luck, it's still early to worry yet. Is it induction you're worried about?? They need your consent to do anything so stay in control and chill out (easier said I know!!). Another thing, before each of my labours I felt r emotional, frustrated and had a sense of urgency just before.... maybe you're feeling are a sign your body is getting ready xx
