I've just returned from a 4D scan and the sonographer confirmed it was a girl ( the 3 tell-tale lines). We had told her we are having a girl.. as at my 16 week scan and 20 week scan both sonographers said girl.

The problem I have got is that during this most recent scan (4d one) when she was in the 2D mode in between baby's legs just looked like a willy!! And my hub and mother-in law, father-in-law and neighbour agree, after watching the video!!!
I am very very confused as 3 times I have been told it's a girl.... how easy is it to mistake a girl for a boy??
PS Ive bought pink already!!

Anyone else had this??

I don't know but having a boy i could see the way he lay his balls not just his tinky.. he would lie with his legs open for scan just to show off :rotfl: so i guess it depends how they are lying

I know of people who have been told it's a boy and it ended up being a girl, and vice versa. However, these scans were only the regular hospital ones so may not be as accurate as the 4D scan.

I've been told mine is a girl at my 20 week scan, but I'm not relying on the result, and so I've only bought unisex clothes for now.

can i ask why you are so worried about this? Does it really matter if you get a boy or a girl as long as they are healthy?

We where told girl and well she is a girl but i bought creams and lemons etc until she was born :) everyone else will buy you lots of pink and blue so dont worry

it is very easy to see the unbilical cord posing as a willy. when my daughter was born i saw the unbilical cord and sais oh its a boy. the midwifes said no its a girl. i was like huh. i was looking at the cord lol they showed her to me and i was like oh ok cool :) it was the cord lol. so they may see the cord and think its a boy now.

btw if u are having a boy and not a girl then im sure the shop if u explain will accept clothes back :) and whatever else u bought :) keep receipts :)

LOL cloud :rotfl:

If it's a boy on the 4D it's very obvious is the ball sack and willy, or was in Isaac's case anyway, I hear that the main mistake of saying a girl is a boy, is the umbilical cord, and scans can be very odd things to watch to the un-trained eye, lots of bubbles, fluids and allsorts going on, I think in your case it's definitely a girl

omg u so remind of me, i was told i was having a boy! As soon as i had him i was like are you sure?really sure? can i just see for myself and check! i think most ppl do it :rotfl:
