Erm, I run my own business but I will be a single mummy .......again. I am entitled to Matermity Allowance which is the same as Stat Maternity. If you are employed by an emloyer you need to get your Mat B signed by your midwife (she'll give this to you) and give to your Employer so you can get that. You should then get working tax credit (depending on your circumstances for work and wages and if your partner earns). Like you said Child benefit and also Child Tax Credit. If you go on the Government website it will tell you the Bens you are entitled to and also it will have PDF's for you to fill out and send off too. If you need help with housing if you are a single parent you will get help with that too. Think that's right. The majority is on

Looks like lots of things are being stopped and reduced as well! I've just noticed that you don't get any extra child tax if you have a baby under 1 now. What a bunch of @ssholes this Government have turned out to be really. They've penalised families a lot!
