working hours

Im not really sure if this is true or not just wondered if anyone has had experiance with reducing hours later in pregnancy. on of the girls who i work with has said that i should be entitled to reduce my working hours if i need to??? anyone else heard of this. thanks in advance xx

I think you can! I'm not 100% but I know if your struggling they get you to take mat leave sooner but still after 29 weeks! I still worked 32 hours a week up until I left work last week but with lacey I reduced my hours when pregnant from 40 a week to 30 a week and my employer was fine!! x x

thanks i plan to leave when im about 35 weeks but just wondered, ive been put on quite alot of nights 12 hour shifts and am starting to 'flag' a bit and am so sick afterwards for few days. I am coping ok at normal 71/2 hour shifts but nights are a killer. Dont wanna complain too much as people will think im playing the pregnancy card but even the thought of continuing them are a nightmare!!xx

I'm working 4 day weeks now but using holiday to do this. I'm also working from home from next week to cut down on driving. I'll be working until 39 weeks as home is closer to my hospital of choice than work.

I think you'll be fine to ask about reducing your hours, there is no harm in asking

thanks ladies. omg i couldnt work till 39 weeks (well dont wanna!!!)will u be working from home then? im not too bothered bout my normal working day but its the nights!! im gonna see how this lot of nights go then maybe ask if i can reducehow many i do (as im currently doing more than everyone else!!) thanks again for the advice ladies xxx

Yes working from home as off next week, so only 4 days in the office this week woo hoo!!
