ok random thread but i have a wool rug and it desperatley need a wash and my mum said i could shove it in the washer on a wool/delicates wash on cold??

i cant get hold of her and am dubious of doing this, any tips?

I wash all hand wash only wool jumpers, blankets etc on the hand wash/wool cycle in the washing machine and they're always fine! It spins them really slowly and it's a cool wash so no different to hand washing x

Ooo thanks, its a large rug though.........hopefully it fits! Hope i dont break the washer, just dying to get this thing washed it looked so nice when it was new and white, its grubby now and bugs the hell out of me!

You might have to be careful or it being like a sponge though when you pull it out and water going everywhere as it won't spin it much on a delicate cycle :oooo:

I'd stick it in if it was me anyway, fur facing outwards.

I would have put it in an old duvet cover to protect it and your washer from any loose woolly bits x

That would have been a good idea, sorry
Did you wash it?

that is a good idea with the duvet thanks! I am doing it tomorow now eek fingers crossed
