Hi looking for a bit of help and opinions here.

As some of you know we go to sweden quite frequently due to my OH coming from there but next summer we have decided that we will take the usual trip to Sweden in July but we have also been looking at camping in France in June.

My point here is if we do this then lo will be around 9 weeks old.

It is one of these camp sites where the tents are up and there are proper beds and kitchen facilities in them...

Just wondering would you do this with a baby this young in June in france?

need to book it soon as it's an early booking offer which is fantastic...£350 for 10 days in france on a 4star site for 5 of us inclusive of accomodation and ferry crossing.

Do you think this is doable with a young baby or should we pay a few hundred pounds more and go for a cabin with heating and toilet etc...?

Any advise would be happily welcomed.

thank you :)

i think i would be a bit worried with one that tiny :? could just be me as i freak about that sort of thing

also if they are stil waking alot in the night you might be waking the whole campsite 2/3 times a night (you know what tents are like - you can hear a whispered conversation 100 yards away!)

i would personally worry about how it was going to be and that would stress me out and i wouldnt enjoy the hols as much or the run up to them even though things might be perfectly fine once i got there! . i think i would prefer as much comfort as poss that soon after a baby aswell!

but thats me hun - you know best how you'll deal with it. see what others say - i might just be being realy paranoid

well haydens just gone 9 weeks and i'd say it would be alright with him...would need a whole entourage of stuff though and i still think it would be a bit stressful...however i only have him (granted OH is a bit childish sometimes) if i had other kids i think it would be a no no..too much hassle!

but thats me..if you think you'll handle it then go for it hun..you said your taking the car so thats good..can just throw all the stuff for bubba in!!

I wouldn't personally, but then I would just find it too stressful and worry baby would get too cold outside.

ditto this.

We always go camping and I know these sites can be wonderful but I think I'd weigh up the pro's and con's of camping under canvas as opposed to going in a cabin.

Positives of canvas is its cheaper and its fun but on a negative side if its hot then there is no air con and if its cold then unless you have a heater then thats a problem too. Also I'd be aware of the noise factor.

Personally think I'd go for a cabin as you can have the option of air con when its hot and heat when/if its cold. Its cosier, safer and less likely to intrude on other campers.

We are heading to France next summer and my son will be 10-11 mnths and we are considering a cabin for the above reasons but at the end of the day the choice is yours and I'm sure whatever you decide it will be great fun!

can a baby travel before they have had all their jabs? I thought the earliest for travelling should be 3 months when all vaccinations have been done? I personally wouldnt take a baby away before all jabs had been done...even if it is allowed
