... Do they say you are pregnant for 10 months when it's actually 9?

My friend, who is currently 6 months pregnant brought this question up earlier.

The only answer I have is that it's not up to 9 months, it's 9 months including the full 9th month. Make sense?

Because it's 40 weeks and everyone thinks 4 weeks in a month when there arent.....that would be 28 days in every month.....it's 9 calender months - there are 4.3 wks in a month.

I felt cheated when I found this out! My greatgrandmother was pregnant for 11 months. Back then they only spoke welsh and lived in cottages and gave birth in between lighting the fire and scrubbing the sheets. No time for counting weeks, midwives and certainly none of this inducing nonsence. Mustve hurt though eh?! One comfy baby!
