ds is 6 months old and has been on solids for 10 weeks (3 meals a day).

Sometimes when I feed him he is fine but other times when I try and feed him he just cries yet when dh feeds him he happily eats off him.

Please can anyone help.
Thanks

Oh he is bf if that makes any difference. x

Not sure hun sorry.

Have you tried letting your LO feed himself?

I am following Baby Led Weaning with my DD and started at 6 months on finger foods, she really enjoys feeding herself. It is fairly messy but its great fun and really stress free and easy on my part. We all sit down as a family and eat the same meals together.

I would recommend it to anyone its great to see DD enjoying her food rather then mealtimes being a battle. At first your LO may not eat a great deal but will probably explore the food through play but this is good, he needs to experience a variety of textures, flavours, colours, smells and tastes. Initially I was lucky if my DD ate more than a couple of lumps of carrotts but after about 1 month of finger foods I noticed she suddenly started to eat a lot more and now shovels it in :D We put her in her high chair as im dishing up but then we have to wait for her's to cool down (usually with hubby helping by blowing it) and she goes mad cause she can see and smell her dinner and she knows its tea time.

Give it a go and see how you get one, try things like toast, cheerios, crumpets, porridge for breakfast. Lunch I give jacket potatoes, beans on toast, spaghetti on toast, pitta and cream cheese, omlette, ham sandwich. Tea we have things like spaghetti bolognaise, lasagne, fish with veg and potatoes, pasta, roast dinner, risotto, stir fry. I usually give either fresh fruit or yoghurt as dessert after lunch and tea.

There's a BLW Blog thread within the Feeding & nutrition section that will give you some more info and ideas on finger foods, theres also lots of links to some websites with info and some great photos of babies eating.
